My oldest Papillon Bobby (in my avatar) has recently had some trouble with his neck and so to play safe I want to use a harness on him in future rather than a collar. He's a small dog, weighs 3 kgs, very light in build and is about 10 inches tall so pulling is certainly not an issue -he's very well-behaved anyway. It would only be for normal walks, nothing else. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good harness to use? Quick to put on and take off, doesn't rub and obviously quite lightweight as he is so small.

Someone came to collect their pup and she brought a cute, soft lilac Puppia harness.....rather nice!

I use Lupine as they are guaranteed against being chewed or damaged, whilst away from home for a stud visit one of my girls partially chewed through the other ones harness, I contacted Lupine and they even tracked down one of the same pattern which had been discontinued at no charge to me.

I use Walk'r'cise for most of my dogs - just a basic walking harness but they fit well, are sturdy and also the strap between the front legs is adjustable so they can come up a bit further back for dogs who get sore armpits easily (Remy is one of those which is why I first tried them).

With our yorkie and our cairn cross, we used the puppia harnesses and loved them. So easy to get on and they look cute too :)

Puppia here too when mia was really tiny very soft and easy to put on. There are slightly different ones ebay do plenty

How much do the Puppia adjust? I'm torn between Small and Medium -it says Yorkie or Cavalier for medium, well that is a big size difference between the two breeds -Bobby is about half the size of a Cavalier but much bigger than a Yorkshire Terrier (well going on the size you see them at shows, anyway).

Answering myself -one Ebay seller states Papillon should be small so have gone for that.

My dogs are chins and cavs and they all wear fleece dog games harnesses. The smallest of my chins is 2.5kg and wears a size 1. they are very well made,and wash well.

If I remember correctly, sonny was a small and is about the same size as a Papillion.
