So, if we have a good showing (no pun intended) in the high diving there could be no end of budgie smugglers sold? :)

"Gin O'clock" on Facebook has been giving me some very amusing reading on the Olympics too. Apparently there is some concern Prince Harry has lit a ciggy with the torch............and they've put the North Korean Flag up in the Palace to get in the mood.

Took the words out of my mouth Stooge, I don't trust PETA as far as I can throw them.
I'm looking forward to the opening ceremony, but I can't say I really care much for the rest of the games, I find sports a bit dull.
>I don't trust PETA as far as I can throw them.
Is that a new Olympic sport? :-D

What do people think of some of the football players not singing the national anthem, does it bother you, does it matter ?
I think if it's the norm to sing at the beginning of match's, then they should have, if it bothered them that much, then why be part of team GB ?.

"Sorry but the whole thing bores me rigid - sport is simply someone else's hobby ...and no-one is funding mine to the tune of nine BILLION pounds !! -it's a complete and utter waste of money particularly so when we are in the worst recession for over 50 years and with so many people losing their jobs and so many local facilities closing or being cut back"
Agreed. Also, there has been so much hype regarding the London 2012 Olympics, my boredom kicked in long ago!

"Is that a new Olympic sport?"
Lol love it! :-)
> Also, there has been so much hype regarding the London 2012 Olympics, my boredom kicked in long ago!
It's strange - some people say that not enough has been done to get people enthusiastic - others say not enough. I must admit that I wasn't so interested way back in 2005 when we won the bid (other than a brief woohoo!) but it's certainly been creeping up on me
Missed those bloomin' bells this morning though, I was still asleep at 8.12am. Anyone else hear anything?

Nothing here, and really was expecting to hear something! I work in central london, and because our travel is likely to be affected we've had to invoke quasi shift hours, so I was at my desk (opposite the Bank of England, and Mansion House) at 6.30 this morning. Just looked out of the window and there appears to be a coach load of Japanese dignitaries are in with the Lord Mayor.

Oh, you think it is a political thing? I just assumed they were too thick to remember the words :)
I think that they should have sung 'God Save the Queen' whether English, Welsh or Scottish if they have accepted their place in a British Team. Having said that, did all the team members sing? Sometimes in International matches, some team members don't sing do they? In the case of the Welsh Rugby team, some of them don't sing the Welsh National anthem maybe because they don't know the words (Shame on them!! :) ) or because they are too emotional to sing!

If anybody is interested here is where you can look at what is going on and when :-)
http://m.london2012.com/schedule-and-results/index.htmlWe will definitely be watching Cavendish in the road race as hopefully it may be Team GBs first gold and could wish for a better man to win it !
I can't wait to see who lights the 'flame'!!! Any thoughts? David Beckham?

As usual, those who live in rural areas without broadband/cable/Sky miss out on the full coverage :( 24 Red Button channels for some and 1 1/2 for the rest :( I've got my daughter staying, recuperating after an operation and she is most annoyed that she won't get to see her favourite sports when she would had she stayed at home :) :) :) I'm trying to persuade her that having parents fussing around must make up for that :) :) :)
