Is anybody from a round this area as I am going to be working there for a couple of days a week for the next few months and will need to do an over night stay.

What I would like to know are there any nice small boutique type hotels in a reasonable distance or a nice hotel with a spa as want to make sure I have a nice relaxing stay as it is going to be quite full on couple of days so want some nice chill out time to compensate ! The good thing is the rest of the time will be working at home or popping to some near by commutable clients so a really nice balance job for the next few months !

Thanks
Lucy

Is central Leeds too far?  Are you driving?  It's 5.5 miles but as you'd be going in the opposite direction to rush hour traffic it might be ok...

42 The Calls, Leeds  - I'm not sure how the costs look nowadays but when I used to work in Leeds this was my accommodation of choice :)  It was fairly new then and had the most fantastic steak restaurant next door which I understand was closed during the foot and mouth epidemic.  I'm not sure if they ever reopened!

I once stayed at Oulton Hall too - however I arrived at 10pm and left again at 6am so I really can't say much other than the bed was very comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the night porter very helpful.  I'm sure it's lovely in daylight

I have stayed at Oulton a number of times, never had any complaints.

There is a 'village' hotel in tingley just off the motorway so commuting will be reduced. I'm not sure how 'fancy' you want to go but most city centre hotels don't have parking. Oulton hall is lovely and shouldn't be too much of a drive but the motorway around tingley (think it j28 on m62) is horrendously busy at rush hours so maybe staying close by would be easier.

Or if Oulton hall is too pricey/not available etc not far from there is Thorpe park hotel which I understand has a good spa. I live in Leeds but have never really had the need to use a hotel round here so apologies for the lack of first hand information!

Thanks just had a look at prices and not too bad as they seem to have offers on as it is a Monday which is good and only giveiles away so perfect distance. I doubt rush hour traffic will be an issue as will be leaving work later and then
a bright early start in the mornings !

It looks a lovely place do think it will be just fine for me !

Thanks all for your help
