Is that your Mini Schnauzer pup? Mine has just finished hers, she was 8 months old, and wasn't swollen whatsoever beforehand. She swelled up slightly but not too much, and has now stayed a little larger than before, much less 'tucked in'.

No problem. I found my bitch had hers the same time her mother had her first season, it was a mild season but definitely keep a close eye, nightmare if he got to her yes!

Some of my girls have started bleeding and then swelled up, others have swelled and then started bleeding. Not much help!!

I have a "wee taster" who starts tasting the girls wee each morning about 7-10days before the season, when he first did it I thought how weird and it then clicked on my girls second season when he did it again that the 2 were connected, if I am planning a litter then I start the morning tissue test before they have had a wee.

Some bitches keep themselves so clean that it may only be stains on their bedding that will be seen.

When I had my first bitch in season I went nuts covering the sofa and chairs in shower curtains and throws as I was expecting all this blood as my only experience was when I had visited a school friend and their cocker was dripping blood every time she moved, thus far none of my girls have bled heavily.
