Pet Plan.
Make sure whichever pet insurance you get insures a condition for life.So if for example your dog becomes diabetic the cover will go for life not just for 12 months like some do.

Pet Plan, a little more pricy but worth it
have on with the KC , one with Sainsburys , one with the AA , all about the same price .All cover what I want . you can find them on compare sites. Check the criteria carefully though .

I have several with Tesco but realised after the fact that the top level cover is only £7,500 per condition (not per year) so an expensive ongoing condition would probably swallow this up within a year or so. Also have one dog with Aviva but they have been a total pain in the butt with losing paperwork, swearing paperwork from the vet has never reached them (even when it's been faxed and put in the post FOUR times already), not letting you know that a claim is on hold because they 'haven't' received the paperwork etc. One dog with John Lewis and they have been fine to deal with. I like John Lewis because the top level of cover is £10,000 per condition per year, so some peace of mind there.
