Have I missed the Leeds entries being posted somewhere?  Got the message from Higham that I can download and print my passes but I haven't seen the entries....don't they usually come out first?

They will be on higham but it can be a short while after you can print passes, up to a couple of days even.
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 10.07.12 11:37 UTC

Sometimes they manage the same time but usually I start watching once I can print my passes ;-)

Yes I saw that too, hoping for a miracle though (no rain for next 17 days) or it will still be quite a muddy day.

SWD's pretty average numbers.  Pom's, I thought quite low especially when you think the person is a breed specialist.  Fingers crossed that the show will go on and the rain stops for a couple of weeks now.....

Ours are dreadful, but no CCs at this one, just 8 dogs entered, my young lad being one, going to be a quick judging.  Compared to 40 at NW&PB

ours are about average, 72/74  it is a Friday too. Just hope the weather doesn't spoil the day.

You won't be able to see that information until the day of the show

how is the layout there ? will there be wet weather tents as if this weather carries on looks like we will need it
- By PDAE [gb] Date 13.07.12 15:17 UTC
They do have wet weather tents there.  I'm just hoping that after this weekends forecast of bad rain again in Yorkshire that the sunshine will then come out for the rest of the month.  I don't want Leeds to be cancelled as well.  Can't afford to lose money from another show especially as I've booked camping there too!
- By GldensNScotties [gb] Date 13.07.12 16:13 UTC
How far are the benches from the actual rings? Really would be nice if things cleared up a bit before then... really tired of being freezing cold and wet in July.

127/131 for the breed I'm showing on Saturday
Then 73/74 and 92/93 for the breeds I have on Sunday.
Looks like it's going to be a long 2 days, and poor weather will certainly make that miserable!

i know an its also too expensive to be entering shows that get cancelled/abandoned and no refund think i,l be thinking hard at entering any more outdoor shows soon
- By dorcas0161 [gb] Date 13.07.12 21:48 UTC
I think this year their have been exceptional circumstances, I live in the North West and even for us we have had a lot more rain than normal for the time of year.
Fingers and toes are all crossed that the sun comes out soon and we get back to having lovely outdoor shows again.

I can't help feeling champ show committees are being a bit arrogant with refusing to cancel shows. How can the ground be ok for Leeds champ show and not the great Yorkshire show or the cla game fair? Cynical old me thinks these committees don't want to give refunds.
- By welshie [gb] Date 14.07.12 09:18 UTC
couldnt agree more  they will let first day go ahead then if its  too bad then cancel and then they have covered themselves from paying out
well thats my thoughts each to their own
- By molezak [gb] Date 14.07.12 12:22 UTC
Agree Welshie, all the lovely fairs and big shows are going down the pan round here because cancelling, although a huge shame, is the right thing to do. And we're not in the worst part of the country for flooding etc.
- By PDAE [gb] Date 14.07.12 14:52 UTC
They have all been cancelled not many days in advance.  I'm hoping, as I'm sure the secretary is that after this weekend we will have two weeks of glorious sunshine.  We need to all start doing sundances now :)

The CLA Game Fair and Great Yorkshire Show might be in a slightly different position because of the enormous number of trade stands and revenue they rely on. I wouldn't like to say whether the crowds are coming for the shopping experience or displays/competitions, but if I were a trader I don't think I'd want to risk a huge layout for a show that might not happen--an no trade stands, fewer admissions on the gate. The CLA and Great Yorkshire show committees might have have to base their decision to cancel on the economic impact rather than just the weather.

Does anyone know what time the meeting is to decide on what's happening at Leeds?

Wasn't aware there was a meeting?
- By PDAE [gb] Date 17.07.12 12:08 UTC
I'm sure that I read somewhere yesterday, not sure if it was on FB tht there was going to be a meeting today to decide on whether it will be going ahead hext week?  Maybe I dreamed it LOL!

The Great Yorkshire Show is held at a completely different venue! Reading in OurDogs yesterday, the Leeds Canine Society paid towards the cost of drainage in the field used at Harewood House over 25 years ago.
