We have an alert on the drain that runs near our house, aparently if it does get high it should stop about 50 meters away from our house.
We have just spent the last 1 1/2 hours bailing out the back patio and the chicken run to save the outhouse from flooding.
We have moved everything off the floor and raised the electrical appliances off the floor to save them.
There are no sandbags left, we are waiting for more to come in this afternoon.
The rain has eased now but its meant to get worse this evening. :(

If it floods ours should just be the outhouse, so hope you are all safe and dry.
Lea :)

I conned my dogs to go out for a wee this morning before it got bad, i mean really bad! Not a chance in hell getting them to go out now. Even my BC with her thick coat is hibernating somewhere! Bailed pond out four times since 8am. Road is flooded outside my house, so glad i moved the car to higher ground. Locally there is flooding and on some motorways there are lane closures near me. It must be horrid driving in this lot!

Anybody in the Bristol area as we were thinking about going to Cribs Causeway but the weather alerts for the SW don't look very clever and the rain is pretty bad here so far

Had a walk up the road last night to look at the drain and saw the fireservice rescue van and boat went past and slowed down. Walked further up and my neighbours were having to be boated out of their house :( :( It was under water and the other side to the drain :( :( :(
We have survived. Just hope the rain holds off now for the drain to go back down as it is still quite high :(

Dogs hibernating here or pretending to be fast asleep, must attempt to get them out for even a short walk.
Lea will be thinking of you & anyone else who has flood problems close by, good luck, fingers & paws crossed.

Sorry LJS I'm a bit late with a weather report for Bristol!!  I'm south of the Cribbs Causeway junction and it's been raining here all morning so far but easing off now.  I'm about to drive to Cornwall so I'm hoping it stays relatively dry for the next few hours...

Wet here in Fishponds but nothing unusual.

Gosh, I hope it improves soon. Here in Suffolk we've had bursts of heavy rain, and threats that part of our next door village may get flooded, but in our village it's a lovely sunny afternoon! Weird weather!

Here in my part of Dorset I had a problem getting to my horse, luckily she is on higher ground so the water runs away, but the village where I keep her was flooded. I had to park the car and walk. My poor old Gsd  did not enjoy the walk back to the car as it is all up hill.Hopefully by the time I have to check horse again the water will have gone. The AA must have been busy as the amount of cars that had attempted the floods and then broken  down were numerous. The weather is lovely now.

Ooopppssss Hope everyone is okay and the water didnt rise above the step :o :o
Its all gone down now, and the expected rain hasnt arrived, so hopefully means there will be a respite enough for the water to seep away and not come up so high again.
Hope everyone in the south is okay now as have heard they are taking a battering!!
We have just sorted the outhouse out so that anything electrical is perminantly off the floor by a good 6". But think the sand bags are going to be put so they are to hand!!!!

We've been really lucky here in Bristol, compared to other parts of the country we've had nothing, and today we've had blue skies and sunshine all day.
