This time with Dave the cat.

He went AWOL all day Sunday until late evening which is unusual for him as he is a mummies boy and has to have mummy cuddles during the day.

I thought there was something not quite right with him as he wasn't holding his tail up like he normally does. Has a look and could see anything and he didn't show any signs of being in pain.

This morning however he has just come in for the second sitting of breakfast and have just noticed a hole about the size of a penny . It looks quite clean and think it is probably a puncture wound.

It looks like it make need stitching poor little man.

Good news though Betty seems alot better so the ABs are working on her :-)

Cat's are a pain for "hiding" injuries. One of mine walked round with a hole at the base of his tail and the vet estimated it had been there for upto TEN DAYS!!! Although he was in and out of the house and being regularly picked up and 'petted' during that time, no one noticed. The vet said it was probably a 'fighting' wound that he received when he was in 'retreat' and it has become infected. Once the absess burst, we spotted it. He had an op and the hole was massive! Everything healed though and you would not know there had been a problem now. I am sure yours will be fine too :)

Oh no, poor Dave xxxx
Cats are strange things. I hope the vets get him sorted and he is back home soon.

I have a couple of suspects in the frame one of which is a Tortie who is his big sister as she hates him with a vengeance and takes any opportunity to ambush him !

It looks like a bite wound. I am sure he will be fine he is made of tough stuff even though I call him my little princess :-D

yes mine have had one or two "retreat wounds"  that havnt been noticed until the turn nasty. mind I have a feeling my Bentley ginger mog is probably responsible for inflicting some of his own too :(

As it is a bite wound I would strongly recommend you have him blood tested for FIV now as that is how the virus is spread -deep bite wounds.

£350 lighter in the pocket but he is home with five stitches.
