Has anybody been watching the ridiculous slot 'Pams problem pets'

So far two dogs one smelly king charles then a chi loosing hair and she is clutching at any straws she can find to answer what the problems are. What a waste of space !

What a load of rubbish she was!  Not a clue about anything. :(

I switched off after the whiffy dog...  Clueless!

Do you mean Cavalier King Charles or King Charles?- It insenses me as a Charlie owner to have people call Cavaliers- King Charles!!!! Not that I have anything against Cavvies (before I am shot down in flames!) - I know quite a few but it happens all the time and I think it is time to rebel and challenge all these programmes etc who seem to think they are all called King Charles!!

As a cavalier breeder and owner, it incenses me when people refer to my breed as "king charles" too!

I am not sure as missed the first bit so shall I say a type of spaniel to be politically correct and not offend anybody ;-)

My sister told me that she gave some good advice RE:seperation anxiety but she's not mentioned her since. I do wonder what qualifies her to give advice??

She hasn't got any qualifications as far as I know but said she owned a Westie. I mean she didn't even own a dog in Eastenders :rolleyes: ;-)

She had some thing to do with Scottie rescue, and is very fond of dogs attending Crufts to publicise the rescue work etc.

She's involved in terrier rescue, visits Crufts etc, but otherwise as far as I know just an ordinary dog owner. It's a shame, because somebody like her could do a lot of good with a bit of help. Might have been better if they'd paired her with somebody more knowledgeable and questions were shared. Like they do at TV for Crufts.

I didn't see this but just wanted to add that Pam has been an ambassador for hearing dogs for many years and has helped to raise a great deal of money.

It's a shame if the programme  made her look silly as she really is a dog lover and a very nice lady .

Ugh, sounds like I'm glad I missed it! Can't stand it when people have easy care dogs like Cavaliers (even my full coated male only took 5 minutes to brush out every other day) and then ruin the coats with clipping until they look like fat woolly sheep. I'm another one who gets the GP always saying 'oh, are they King Charles' to my Cavaliers, I just smile and say 'yes, Cavalier King Charles', there's no point going into long explanations. I did laugh when I had a grooming client who said she had a Cavalier and a King Charles, I was looking forward to it as I've never seen a Charlie outside a show ring. Car pulled up, out gets.... a rather large longish nosed Cavalier, and a smaller slightly short nosed Cavalier. Absolutely not a Charlie!

Sorry to sound ignorant, but I've never known that a cavalier is different to a king charles spaniel? What is the difference? This is why I love this forum, I enjoy learning.

An easy mistake if you have only a passing interest in dogs...just like I cant really name all the breeds of chicken.
But I think it pretty bad when people who have owned the breed for years ring up for a puppy "just like their last KING CHARLES"

I used to explain, write back with a link, now I dont bother. :-(

I suppose that it's a little bit like 'Alsatian' instead of German Shepherd. It's engrained into society! :(

Not really, they are the same breed.
More like owning a Welsh springer all its life all the while thinking its an English. Or buying a Labrador thinking its a Golden retriever.

Yes, it is people who own the breed and refer to their cavaliers as "king charles" that really annoy me. I always have to correct them and remind them politely that the king charles is a totally separate breed!

She didn't look silly as such, but ill prepared and out of her depth so as a consequence added nothing useful to the debate about the 'smelly dog'.  Once she'd exhausted ears, glands, teeth and diet she simply had nowhere else to go and the conversation just fell silent.

Actually I wonder why he was whiffy...
