Hi All
I expect you all remember me posting about Robbie's pet insurance with the Halifax being withdrawn last year when they pulled the plug on all there policies, we went on daybreak to tell our story and after much fighting since last October they have finally backed down and reinstated the policies for owners whose animals have pre-existing conditions and have paid back all vet bills incurred since the policies were withdrawn, its been a long drawn out battle with them and a lot of worry and stress but i am glad to say the policy documents arrived this morning and apart from new underwriters the policy is the same, what a weight off my mind and thousands of other peoples minds aswell.
I am so pleased that it was worth all the fighting for and the numerous letters and phone calls i made, at least i know now that Robbie can have the best of health care that he deserves and not have to worry about who will pay the bill at the end of it.
Yipee!!!!
Helen and Robbie

Oh wow, well done!!!

Wonderful news!

Well done Helen. It makes such a refreshing change for the "little people" to come out on top instead of these huge organisations.

I'm amazed, I really am ! I thought they'd just walk away and leave you all in the lurch.

Woooo Hoooo, well done :) :) :)
And good on you for keeping going!!!!
Well done to everyone.
I gather they are going to contact all that have pre existing conditions or are they going to expect them to contact the company!!!
Lea :)
No everybody should get there new policies like i have, they are only offering them to owners whose animals have pre-existing conditions that couldn't get cover elsewhere, customers who were with lloyds and halifax that had nothing wrong with them have had to go elsewhere for policies, they are not offering policies to any new customers either so when these animals die the cover will die with them which i feel is fair enough.
It is only what they should have done in the 1st place so i haven't thanked them for it, after all the stress and worry they caused nobody who has been through this would thank them, i am just over the moon that it was worth all the phonecalls and letter i sent and i am glad i never gave up even though i thought the big guys would beat me in the end, i must admit i am very very happy indeed

You should give yourself a huge pat on the back for getting there.
It should have been what they should have done in the first place xx
WELL DONE :) :)

Good for you Helen, you must be so glad you didn't just roll over and let yourself be bullied by the big guys. Brilliant result for you and all the others affected too.

Yay, well done.

Congratulations :elen only what robbie and you deserve . Well done for seeing it through. I hope Robbie continues to do well and that you are now safe in the knowledge you have insurance to help you :)

Oh WOW Helen, I remember watching you on TV and how nervous you were about it all. So all your efforts came to fruition (rightly) but isn't it great that, by sticking it out, you have helped so many others.
Pat on the back girl! :-) :-) :-)
Congratulations on winning a 'just' result.
For the many that were left high and dry when they pulled the rug out from underneath those owners
it must big a big sense of relief after what they went through.
However for those that this u-turn has come too late for I do feel incredibly sorry especially if they had to
have their beloved pets pts because they couldn't afford the medical care/treatment needed due to lack of insurance cover.
A bitter-sweet moment I'm sure.
Well done, you all deserve a public apology from the Halifax.
Disgraceful behaviour by them.
