Hi I wondered if anyone could please advise me. We own a caravan about an hour an half from where we live and usually spend the whole holidays there. Well the kids are breaking up from school on 20/07. We dont drive so we use the train to get there but I wondered whether we are able to travel with our bitch. She mated 22/06 and again for the following couple of days so would be due 20-24th August. I have sourced a vet over there just incase and we will be returning home for her to give birth at home before her due date but is it safe for her to travel ? I should add that travelling doesnt usually cause her any stress, shes very used to it as we go over to the caravan most holidays ect.....

It shouldn't be a problem at all. :-)

My last litter was due three days after we all got back from holiday, but actually arrived safely a week after the journey. I'd give it a week to be on the safe side.

Ok thankyou, I will aim to come back on 13th to be on the safe side.

If you don't drive, have you got a way of getting to the vet in the event of an emergency?

yes our caravan site is a residential site,  and there is also always someone about who would take us to the vets. Our warden is well aware of the situation and has said I can pinch him and his car at anytime of day or night :)
