What I find truly mind-boggling is how people are franticaly trying to come up with new ways to ensure dogs are not a danger to the public, talking of compulsory micro-chipping as one thing, to help stop people getting hurt by dogs....
Yet here we have 2 owners, repeatedly chucking thier dog in the water - an act that is bound to have an effect on the dogs behaviour towards people in general, (if not just the owners), they are brought to courtt and get LET OFF.
What on earth goes on in the heads of the people that we have to ensure the law is upheald?????? I am so frustrated I am finding it hard to put into words, but for crying out loud, surely, in anybodies mind, it it obvious that this sort of mis-treatment to dogs is at the very root of the problem of unwanted dog behaviours our country is trying to stamp out.
You want nice friendly dogs - dogs need to be TREATED nice & friendly, it doesn't get much simpler than that.
The defence for these 2 cretins should be ashamed of thierselfs for condoning such disgusting, irresponsible, cruel behaviour
A few years down the line when that dog has had enough of the torment from these people (if they do that in public, how do they treat the dog in private?) the poor little thing will have had enough and when it bites out in self defence, the dog will be ordered to be destroyed, then all the relevant authorities will ba banging on about how dangerous dogs need to be tackled

This sums up the problem with dogs that bite people - a lack of understanding, not just by the idiotic owners, but even higher - when the courts can not see that a sentient being is going to be affected by such treatment :( :( :( :( :(
Sorry if that doesn't read well, I have got rather wound up over this!!
