Topic Dog Boards / Health / lion jaws in my bull terrier

My 4 month old bull terrier has been diagnosed with lions jaw. Now the vet is telling me that her fang teeth are not growing right and run the risk of them putting holes in her upper jaw. Will see a dentist for her on Monday, but have seen on line mixed messages, should we correct it or when her jaw stops swelling will her teeth be okay totally confused

Not sure what Lions Jaw is, but it sounds like she is overshot if the lower canines are growing into the upper jaw.

It is craniomandiblular osteopathy  hence the nickname (lions jaw) my pup is 4 months old it is an abundance or overgrowth of the jaw bone, lucky for Ruca it has not interfered with her eating or drinking. My vet had never seen this but has vet friends that had. Today the issue of her bottom  fang  teeth came up as they grow he is afraid they will puncture the roof of her mouth. Want to know if anyone has dealt with either issue, or maybe one causes the other have no idea
