Oh no! It was muddy enough for WELKS - it'll be dire by Sunday. Hope they've got tractors to tow the cars out!  Might have to give it a miss :(
- By Merlot [gb] Date 07.06.12 16:18 UTC
The weather forcast is not good overnight :-(
- By newfy2 [gb] Date 07.06.12 18:26 UTC
Yes, I went too and the rain was like a stream running through the newfi benching and around the ring:( I was lucky enough to park on the gravel but still had to walk through a good three inches of water to get out!!

we are supposed to be going on saturday if the weather does not pick up may have to give it a miss as well, do not want to be wet and muddy and towed on and towed off i must be getting old as i usually am not bothered about the wet but lately just seems to be one show after the other either in breed or agility fed up and they have a nerve to still say water ban on where we live flamin cheek.

It was FOUL wasn't it - I came for some shopping (and got it, yay but OOH my credit card hurts now!) and left asap (though delayed by the LOVELY guys on the designer tshirts stand, do look if you are there, they were SO nice and had their little x breed with them, and their stock is lovely too, think its Cherry Hogg  Designs, I may send OH back tomorrow for a poo-bag holder!)...

Thanks to the lovely lady who held her umbrella over me as I was sat on my  scooter waiting for coffee with a big drip going down my  neck, and sorry to anyone who feared I would squash feet/paws near the newfie ring/boxer bench etc (I didn't I am good at Not Squashing Paws but it must look worrying, my purple scooter is rather large!).

Beginning to think I should not bother going on Saturday.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 07.06.12 22:26 UTC
Wellies for Sunday then.  I have just one veteran  going as youngster is in season.

According to Dog World the ground is very wet but holding up well. Also they've posted this:

The ground outside the stalls was like a bog yesterday....why they did not line the stalls up along the roadside is a mystery...even the stallholders commented it would have been a better idea. I parked on the gravel but would not have liked to be on the grass. Obviously the tarmac roads are not muddy but they are wet and if your dog strays off onto the grass for a pee ..yuck!  Not sure how the wind last night affected anything.
The drive back home down the M5 in the pouring rain and spray was diabolical and dangerous but maybe better today.
- By Jeff (Moderator) Date 08.06.12 14:48 UTC
I concur, the drive home was terrible, M4 was awful and the M25 was gridlock!

Any news on what it is like today?  I can't decide whether to bother tomorrow or not - I hate to miss shows I have entered (and usually attend regardless of the weather) but for some reason this week the thought of keeping large long haired mainly-white dogs clean/dry, and/or being towed out of the car park fills me with horror!
- By ridgielover Date 08.06.12 16:50 UTC
I'm feeling the same about Sunday - and I've got short haired, brown dogs! I can't bear the thought of trying to deal with 3 dogs on my own in horrid, mucky cramped conditions and then only having pokey little rings to run around :(
- By Clumberjack [gb] Date 08.06.12 16:56 UTC
I always joke I am going to have small (enough to be carried) brown short-haired dogs next time I add to my brood to deal with this sort of weather but guess it doesn't solve all problems!
- By amandabfc [gb] Date 08.06.12 18:13 UTC
If it means anything it's meant to be dry for rest of day and tomorrow dry, sunny & quite warm. Might not be as bad. I'm going to dare it with my two long coated ones (although they're black so not as bad as white lol).
- By ridgielover Date 08.06.12 18:22 UTC
My short haired brown dogs aren't exactly easy to carry - being Ridgebacks :)
- By Clumberjack [gb] Date 08.06.12 20:17 UTC
Lol! Teach me to read poster's names!
- By ridgielover Date 08.06.12 20:32 UTC
Oh for a like button :)
- By theemx [gb] Date 09.06.12 17:55 UTC
I've defected to Manchester for the weekend, but OH reports its been sunny and dry for at least some part of today and is supposed to be the same tomorrow and I can't imagine its been nice over our house and then wet half a mile away at teh showground
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.06.12 18:01 UTC
It's been lovely all day at Bristol

Tagging on the end.....went to 3 counties today, we were showing inside but the ground was fine and my brand new wellies are still sparkling clean! :-)
- By judgedredd [gb] Date 10.06.12 09:54 UTC
three counties yesterday had abrill day and the naughty puppy behaved himself, and we got through to the puppy group i am so proud of him the weather behaved itself, just windy and a bit cold at the beginning, but then the sun came out and jackets started to come off, then i could not believe what i was hearing on the news on the way home that people had to be evacuated due to floods in wales .
- By JeanSW Date 10.06.12 10:02 UTC
Yes, I saw this on the news last night and was shocked at how bad things were there.  Like you, I was bathed in sunshine.  Some of the scenes shown last night on the news were awful.
- By Clumberjack [gb] Date 10.06.12 12:02 UTC
I know, there was me worrying about the conditions being like Driffield often is, and my dog getting muddy, when all that was going on.  Puts life into perspective sometimes!
- By judgedredd [gb] Date 10.06.12 15:47 UTC
they are evacuating an entire village of 400-600 people as a dam has cracks in it and they are now trying to stop it leaking, i wish them all the luck and hope everything turns out ok, they must be so worried
