Ok folks, the big wait of a lifetime is nearly over and I am more excited now than I was when I was about to give birth myself. I've been waiting and hoping that ONE DAY my princess would come...and we are picking her up on Saturday! She is the most beautiful little bitch puppy and a combination of lines that make me almost cry; she is also the baby niece of my youngest dog Bean and I can't wait to welcome her into the family. So for all of you who have tossed and turned, prayed and wept over your future foundation bitch, count me in your club--our little journey is just starting out.

I can imagine this isn't the most exciting news you've had today, but I was just bursting to share it with someone :-)  :-) :-) thanks guys

Whoop!  Whoop!  I have a big grin all over my face, I can feel your elation from here!  :-)

Sounds like you're floating on the milky way!  :-)

Seriously thrilled for you.  And it is the most exciting news I've heard today.  :-)  :-)  :-)

Getting a new puppy from lines you want is always good news. No matter who's news it is, its great to share.

Very happy for you :)

thanks JeanSW, I actually feel shaky and a bit teary with it all in amongst the screaming happiness. I haven't dared to raise my hopes over so long that when I went to see her at 6 weeks the breeder was concerned that I wasn't convinced by her and was all for waiting for the next litter...which I would have done if I had to, but I was too deep in my own head to actually say much when I held her. As for work--it's been nearly impossible to concentrate on anything today. I'm just counting the minutes now and looking forward to really getting to know her :-) :-) :-)

Can't wait for my boys to see her. Of course they won't know what hit them when she takes over :-D

What lovely news, it is always nice to hear when someone gets what they really want. We all read and hear of people getting a puppy on a whim and not appreciating what they've got so when someone has done their research, waited, planned and followed their dream and  it comes to fruition then it is especially rewarding.

Wishing you much fun and success together and don't worry, the boys will get over it ( in time!!)
Enjoy :)

lol Sawheaties, I have done my homework on this little baby...a 12 gen pedigree (up to 15 for some lines), with photos of every one of her forebears that I could lay my hands on. I'm hoping to get them all up on the wall at some point. My human family may go nuts.

**************C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !!!**************

All that planning and research and waiting and now you have the pup you have wanted for such a long time - no wonder your on Cloud 9

Got a bit teary myself reading that, it's such a feeling you can barely describe :-D

AND you get all the fun of a new puppy too!  It doesn't get much better.

Actually Knowing all your pup's relatives is such a bonus when it comes to breeding and knowing what to expect :-D

Congrats, truly know how you feel, it took me nearly 2 years to find a breeder who would trust me with my first show/breed quality bitch, I was added to lists back in early 2005 and still waiting to hear back from those breeders.

Enjoy her, puppyhood lasts for such a brief time.

Jay15 I did smile when I read your reply on the homework, if only us humans did as much on our partners!!
I told my husband that if I had ever looked at his bite, I wouldn't have mated with him, so saying our children have great teeth, he says my temprament can sometimes be a bit sharp- no idea what he means!!

:)

Once again, enjoy.

How exciting !!!!!!
So so pleased for you, getting a puppy is exciting as it is, but getting one who will play such an important roll for you is doubly so.

Congratulations, and thanks for giving me something to smile at today x

thanks so much everyone, it means a lot to be able to share with good people who know what it's like,
and not my long-suffering family whose first reaction will be "you did WHAT!!!!!" :-)

I haven't a clue how to do it but will post photos in due course.

If genetics and structure have much to do with it she will :-). So excited I can hardly breathe and decided not to risk a long trip down to Southern Counties today (her breeder and I miscounted and we both thought she would come next weekend!), my mind just wouldn't be on the job :-) :-) :-)

We really do need a like button

lol. It's been a mad week, everything seems to be coming together at once--kennel name in the Gazette for final approval, son just got amazing results in his 2nd year (architecture), the best of his year, Bean won Champion Gundog at the Yorkshire Game Fair last Sunday...I think I have my thumb glued to life's like button!
