Hi All,
I was speaking to a friend of the family today who bought a pup from a friend. It is a small breed pup, and definitely a BYB litter. However... months later she bumped into the breeder's sister who said that her dog was the father of the litter. Her dog is actually the dam's son.. meaning that the puppy the family friend bought was probably from a mother-son mating.
When approached, the breeder was apparently really on the defensive and referred back to the KC papers which do show that the father (At least the registered father) was an unrelated dog.
Is there any way that these papers could actually be faked? I know many people have spoken here about not being contacted by the KC when a litter was listed with their stud dog as the sire.
Could this be proven with DNA?
