Am I the only one getting bored with this now? Great to see the dogs but ...

I haven't watched for 2-3 weeks now. I just feel that it's not fair those people who don't look after their dogs properly get such an amazing experience when they don't fully appreciate it. I think that I'd have enjoyed it more if they were taken to homeless dog shelters like in the original episode and learnt reward based practical training that they could use on their own dog. I also get the feeling they'll have been promised a few free visits by a trainer for partaking in the show. The cynic inside me says it's too much of a miracle that simply going and seeing working dogs could make them miraculously be bothered to train their own dogs and be totally dog savvy.

The cynic in me says that they are getting some dedicated training sessions back home too, before they go back in front of the cameras. Nothing wrong with that if it helps them and the dogs but the narrative would not be quite so neat if that element was included.

Like admin, I'm finding the episodes quite dull now. That's the problem with formats- utterly predictable modern fairytales- the mediocre variety anyhow.

Some of the worst bits were the commentary that hyped up the danger- they could die, fall through the ice, get fishooks through their legs etc..- and then when the girl seemed to be ducking out the trainer exclaimed there was absolutely nothing to worry about, she was perfectly safe!

I dont think there's anything 'wrong' with them getting a trainer afterwards, but what I should have elaborated on, was that I feel people may watch the show and think 'you have to have working dogs to understand how to train your dog' or, the other end of the spectrum, see what looks like in a matter of weeks a dog going from a total nightmare to a dream dog.

Didn't actually see any training this week - just dogs being treated as a commodity.

As far as I'm concerned they could have taken them down to the local greyhound stadium and learned as much.

And what happens to old sled dogs?

Still we got to see pillocks being yelled at which is apparently all it takes to transform them, so that's all right then.
