As the title suggests, I wonder how you all chose your names for your puppies?  I'm looking for ideas, to be honest!  I normally go with a theme.  Like when I mated a bitch to an American dog, I named the litter after american states.  Or the litter I named after munroes.  Or from Boats(OH & I met at work on a boat).  But this litter, I'm struggling.  Can't think of a theme and all the pups are different colours so I can't even go that way.  I had a litter from my Red sesame boy once and had sunny names!
Help! I need insperation!

Someone I know in fact the breeder of our youngest lad uses the initials of the stud dogs registered name (minus the affix) and I really like this idea e.g.

Affix Any Name - the puppies will all have names Affix A...... N...... or sometimes she just uses a single letter - it obviously has worked for her over the years :)

She even gave us a list of possible names to choose from for our boy who is Lourdace Stable Lad at Rackens - so all his siblings have names S..... L.....

I'm boring my litters all start with a letter of the alphabe, a single word after the affix, but as I am of Polish descent and bilingual all my names are Polish words.

With my last litter I wanted something to tie in with The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, as the Bitches father is called Return Of The King, and he also appears in the Sires Pedigree. I didn't want to go down the usual Gandalf, Bilbo Baggins. Frodo route as those names have been done to death (apologies to those who have used those names) and I thought about the lesser known characters, Boromir, Faramir, Grimbold etc which was fine for the boys but I couldn't find anything suitable for the girls. So I had another think and in the end we used the names of the Horses from the books. Windfola, Roheryn, Hasufel etc....suitable for both boys and girls, and it sort of ties in with the original theme that I'd wanted. :-)

Take care not to be too current or in 4 months or so you will be in a class of pups with the same name.

One year MPD was awash with Stormin Normans
in another, you couldnt move for Lady Gagas.

How about a champdogs regulars theme.
Something of your favourite posters could be fun, with 'Chamcrac'    'Chamgenie'  'Chamdomingo' and so on.
And 'ChamToolz and ' ChamTad'  and all the others too of course............

Karen ;)
