Hi,
Not wanting to hijack JG's thread about a new phone as this is for an all singing all dancing phone :) :)
Right this is what I Need/Want
200minutes
Unlimited texts
500mb
Free phone
Tmobile/orange or O2
18 months contract if possible, if not 24.
I have found a I phone 4gs 8GB on 02 for £36/ month on a 24 month contract, but if there is any other phone for less and does the same thing???
I like Apps, (Want to try this draw thing that everyone is on about!!)
I use the internet alot on breaks at work and when it rains (spend alot of time sitting in the van at breaks and rain)
Need radio as listen to it on head phones all day.
Face book ALOT.
Like to read this site and others, but the phones I have had previous only lets you save 4 passwords!!!
And use it for business. so can either get a business or a home deal.
I had a samsung which had apps etc, dont think it was a galaxy though 2 years ago but it was terrible, went back so many times, and then totally died from a contunual software error after the 1 year :( :(
So does anyone recommend any phone, with deal or without, any deal etc :) :)
Thanks in advance
Lea :) :)

I'm hijacking YOUR thread now -sorry! I want a new one as well, but I'd love one which is big enough and powerful enough to play Facebook games on. Anyone know?
- By Lea Date 16.05.12 09:31 UTC
Marianne, I dont think any are powerful enough for FV. Even my computer has given up on them as it sends me over my allowance for internet every month :( :(
But will be interesting to see, as that would be good for me as well :)

The iPhone doesn't have radio, Lea.  you can download Apps that will let you listen to the radio but the can eat heavily into your data allowance.  I used to use an App for about 90 minutes of radio listening each morning and regularly exceeded 1000Mb of data monthly but I had and an unlimited package.

I'd consider some of the HTC or newer Samsung phones with a contract.

Thats the I phone out then!!!!!! As I listen to the radio 8 + hours a day :o :o :o And whilst running!!!!
Ok so HTC or Samsung anyone???
Lea :) :)
(knew there was a reason I asked on here!!!)

Samsung for me and I'll be upgrading from the original Samsung Galaxy which I have used for the last two years with no problems to the new Samsung Galaxy 3 which is released at the end of the month. I can't give you any idea of the HTC as I've never owned one but was considering the HTC One X until samsung announced the galaxy 3 launch.
Both are quad 4 processors and work with the new android icecream cone software they also have 8 mp cameras. I am choosing to go with the brand I know.

I just got a deal from Tesco about 3 weeks ago.  The new HTC Xone, free phone, 24 mth contract, unlimited texts, 400 mins and 500 web, so far I have used 39% in 28 days so happy enough with that.  Contract was with O2, but others were on offer, and I was able to keep my own number.

Edited to say, this is my third HTC phone, I've had the magic and the desire hd and loved them.  Only upgraded as son and I swap phones over on different contracts, so he has the latest version..

Forgot to say that deal was £28 a month

Lea are you with BT as if you are then you can get WIFI hotspots all over the place and so wouldn't have any impacts if you are restricted to download restrictions :-)
- By Lea Date 16.05.12 14:35 UTC Edited 16.05.12 14:38 UTC
LJS, Yes I am, but do alot of work in the middle of nowhere so would have alot of times where I would be no where near a hotspot.
I did think about a HTC before my Samsung :)
Will look at both HTC and Samsung :) (I have got the samsung galaxy mini as a club phone, but on;ly send texts on it, so dont know much about how it works, and think its locked to Tesco so I cant even have a play with my sim card LOL)

I've got the Samsung Galaxy II and love it.  My friend in Somerset though just got one and she's really struggling getting any signal and she's not exactly that way out or miles from anywhere!  A lot of people in my breed have it though and many are more remote and I don't think they have any problems.

Which network are you on though??
I dont get 02 very well and live in the middle of nowhere, but Tmobile/Orange my partner gets good signal :)

I have the HTC Wildfire and I am so thankful the contract is nearly up...

It is a nightmare. I have had it 20 months and am on my third battery and I don't use my phone extensively.... It has to be charged every single day without fail, whereas my sister is never off her iPhone and her charge lasts two sometimes three days... when the battery on the HTC has had enough, it just gives up all together....

I would never recommend it, or have another one...

Eeeeeekkkk about HTC wildfire :( :(
I had a samsung Wave last which was more trouble than it was worth (I have my partners old LG K500 at the moment which is better than no phone but not great LOL)
I charge my phone every night, never had one that would last more than 1 1/2 days :(

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace and love it.  OH has a Samsung Galaxy SII and loves it, it having 1GB+ of RAM to use compared to my 512MB. He can have 50+ apps open at once with no slow down. Samsung SII is the world's most popular Android in the last year. New SIII or the very latest HTC good but Samsung has the better recent track record if having to toss a coin.

I know you'll need to check your specific requirements but I love my iPhone4S and like others have said the charge lasts ages :)

I also highly recommend Apple Stores for customer service (mine is in Cribbs Causeway, but I've used others too) and they're great at reducing tech speak, explaining options and showing you with real demo's exactly how things work.

My mum didn't want the cost of an iPhone but since she got her Sony Xperia now wishes she'd gone to Apple instead...
- By Lea Date 16.05.12 19:11 UTC
Jax, the Samsung Galaxy SII looks very tempting especially at only £26/ month :)
Can you use it for draw, and are apps good on it????

Dogs a babe, unfortunatly I phone is out due to no radio on it :(:(
Lea :) :)
- By Jax [gb] Date 16.05.12 20:05 UTC
Yes it can do draw. Not seen any app it can't handle yet.

Have you looked at SIII? Will be a while before it is available maybe. For £26 per month demand more than 4.5 inch screen so you can use apps easier. We pay £22 per month for SII with vodafone.

Anyone else got any thoughts?            Lea :)

Hi I have the samsung galazy s2 but cant play fb games on it. I havent found a phone that can. Also with the s3 coming out very soon you may be able to get this free or very cheap. I pay £35 a month for mine, unlimited texts, 1000 mins and 1gb of internet but this was a year ago so you should get a better deal. I absolutely love my phone (and draw something!) ;-)
- By Lea Date 21.05.12 10:03 UTC
Looks like Samsung SII is probably the way to go then.
Has anyone got any thoughts on the HTC?????

I have the HTC Incredible S Android and def love it. My sister followed me and got the same.
Have nothing but free apps from the app store- free music download apps ect.
Play words with friends and draw game, but prefer the words with friends more.
Can do facebook but I prefer to do that on the puter much better for me.
Takes great pics and video which is the feature I love the most, I am a picture fanatic!
Hubby is more about the music ( a lot of music) and playing games on it- and always on the net surfing,
that was a huge factor for him.

My friend has the galaxy and she is not to impressed.
Daughter has the IPhone but don't no why apps cost after awhile and she don't use all the features.
My son has the HTC wildFire S which is pretty much the same as mine but smaller- plus he is on a cheaper
plan which is month to month- he can switch to pay as you go if he wants and drop the plan.
