My dog refuses to eat plain dogfood, so I mix a little people food in with it - gravy, rice, cheese or plain yogurt. It seems that he absolutely LOVES yogurt. He will eat his entire bowl of food if there is yogurt on it. I have read that yogurt is okay for dogs, but I was wondering how good it is for them? And, how much? Obviously I don't put a ton on his food, but about 1 tblsp. twice a day. Is that too much???
Thanks for your help,
~mkp

If you are going to give yoghurt, why not try plain Bio yoghurt and that'll help your pups insides too!

Agree with Lily on the plain Bio - too much sugar in the flavoured ones and a couple of tablespoons is fine :)

Hello Guest
I would not worry that your dog is not getting whats needed. In fact why dont you give natural foods, such as chicken, yoghurt, vegies. Join the site as a member and check out the feeding board then you can ask about the barf diet. This is raw feeding. I have one dog on it and he is super. The best coat I have seen on him yet and he is fed. Minced beef sometimes, chicken wings, eggs, pilchards in brine, vegetables, rice, even rice krispies. You can add to that herbal suppliments and cod liver oil but not too much. As long as you vary the diet then he will be fine. We dont all need to be on vitamin suppliments do we if we follow a varied diet same applies to dogs. Also years ago their was no such thing as complete dog foods. All dogs were fed scraps off of table.
