We are getting rid of carpets and putting down vinyl flooring.
It is a rented property so not willing to spend the kind of money I would spend on flooring in my own house, cheap and cheerfull will do :)
I'm after recommendations on where to buy, the prices online seem cheaper but there are millions of online shops so thought to see if any champdoggers have used and been happy with certain ones/ found good value shop... I have already spent hours surfing different ones :-)...
Also, I was told I should go for a reasonably thin vinyl as that will tolerate the dog nails better than a very cushioned one which will dent easier, what are people's experiences on that?
We have 3 x 60kg dogs so heavy lumps :)...

If it is rented would you not have to replace it back to carpet when you move out ? If so would it be better to ask the landlord about replacement of a good laminate as a like for like that way you would get something a bit nicer than vinyl ?

The landlord is happy for us to replace but will not contribute towards.
Some of the vinyl floors that are laminate copies look quite nice to me, are warm under feet, will not be damaged by moisture and are non slippery compared to laminate. Most are actually little bit more expensive than cheap laminates are but seem a better option all around with dogs that slobber water all around and really want to avoid them slipping as well (and we do have pups occasionally so will have accidents).
Also, I have been told many laminates will scratch with big dogs?

Laminates are fine so long as reasonably good quality. I have had four Labs and never had any visible scratches .

The rented place i'm in has brand new vinyl on the kitchen floor. No nicks in it so far from claws, seems to be currently holding up well with the wet muddy paws and my girls inability to keep the water in her gob when drinking... lol  Its not a great colour, despite it being multi coloured, shows up all manner of marks etc.. I can find out what they have used, non slip as well.

I had rhino flooring when I had the kitchen extension done.  It is very thick vinyl and they told me that it would withstand stilleto heels.

It has had literally dozens of dogs playing and running on it, 30ft long, so plenty of room for pouncing.  All sorts of sizes and breeds have played on it.  It is now showing signs of wear, but only a little.

It was laid almost 20 years ago.
