while out on walk with the labs,Bella ran towards the embankment couldnt believe it,a fisher man was pulling line out of her mouth,he said the hook was missing so she may have swallowed it,he had left his rod unsupervised, waiting for vet to ring me back, she is showing no symtoms but I realise a hook may be attached somewere,

What a horrible thing to happen! At least the vet will only need to x-ray to spot the hook.  I hope she is OK and the hook is found on the embankment.

Poor Bella, have you heard from the vet !

How did the line come off the hook....did he cut the line before you got to her maybe.

As said it will show up on the x -ray if its there somewhere.

Had the same thing happen to my Lab (they can't resist the smell of the bait). We saw the line coming from her mouth and then she chewed through it. Off to the Vets. They knocked her out and luckily it had lodged in the back of the tongue so they were able to get at it. Hope Bella is as lucky.

Vet rang me back,he said to closely monitor her,she is eating ok,running about and doing usual puppy things this morning,he said if swallowed it would attach where it touches or it may pass through,I dont usually let her off the lead near the lake but nobody appeared to be fishing,he was in a zipped up tent, must of come out to get his rod which was at the back of the tent,I am so annoyed,he wasnt even bothered, more interested with his fishing, fingers crossed I have a appointment this afternoon with the vet.
