I thought I'd register my pups early, as I know the KC do things in their own time & on this litter I used an outside Stud, so thought the KC would write to the Stud Owner to confirm mating etc. Not so! I did online registration on Thursday teatime, got my confirmation email immediately, & by Friday I had an email to say my litter are registered & certificates being printed. Today I logged into my KC account, & the pups are in my list of dogs registered in my name. How quick was that!! Bit concerned that they didn't contact Stud owner 1st though.

They may well have, and been just as fast doing that! The last few times that people have used my boys, I've received an email from the KC, asking me to confirm.
I think the change over Clarges St to Aylesbury and now the computer systems , and more importantly the people who input the data are working together far better than they used to be able to manage , less waiting times for both my recent transfer/name changes.(adding affix)

There are cases of stud dog owner not being notified esp when online registrations are being completed. If contact that owner to check, if not then really it yet again needs to be flagged up: not only notified but don't they have to click something to agree to mating?

Sadly I have to say my experience wasn't so good. They really do need to improve their computer system and their younger workers need to improve their manner. I've always complemented the KC previously on how professional and polite they are but not for my last litter registration.
Denials of having received it four times. Their computer system unable to deal with dogs with stars after their name, surely a computer nowadays should be able to put one less star on a dogs offspring by now?

I've never received an email about the use of on of my boys, but do sometimes get letters. i don't keep a check on how many peole register thier litters online as opposed to on paper, so don't know if I get notified for 100% of the online registrations.
For the past few year the registration system has speeded up so much I was begining to forget all the little problems which used to occur - then I registered my last litter and it looked like I had gone back in time! It took over 6 weeks, so paperwork not ready when first pups went - I didn't sedn it in as soon as they were born as I was working out names. All sorts of little niggles and errors in the system hit this litter, thinkit must have got ot the KC on a bad day :(
I had a mixed service when I changed my Kennel name last week.
I sent it in by email and waited 6 days, I then gave them a call to see how far my application was through the system and got a really unhelpful female on the phone. She couldn't tell me if they were working on my application or what days emails they were working on. She said she couldn't put me though to the registration team and to keep checking my emails.
Next day I checked the names I had put forward on the name checker and one I had applied for was showing as an active kennel name. I called the KC and the same girl answered the phone so I put it down..twice!
I called again a couple of minutes later and got a really helpful girl who checked and said the name was granted the previous day!
Two days later the certificate came through the door.
Whole process from application to receiving the certificate was 9 days.
I'm really pleased with the speed of the processing of the application but just one unhelpful female didn't do anything to enhance their reputation......shame really.

Same here, I have never recieved an email from the KC if the bitches owner has registered on line, only a letter 3 or 4 weeks after. In one case I never even got the letter, so I rang the KC to inform them, they said they'd send another letter and guess what....yup.....never got that one either!

As far as I was aware they issue the registrations and a letter to the stud dog owner. If there is an objection then they can rescind the registrations.
Not much use if pups have been sold and new owners haven't bothered to try and transfer (as at least half of mine don't).
Granted to register a litter on-line you do need to know the stud dogs registration number or stud book number. But it is easy to find out a dogs stud book number as they are printed in the BRS.

When Dylan is used at stud, and the owners register the litter online I've always had a letter. Documents usually take about a week to come through, I wonder if they hang on to them for a couple of days before sending them out, to give the stud dog owner time to contact them if the registration isn't correct?

Lets just say compared to the GCCF (Who admittedly are getting better), the KC is supersonic!

Or worse still, only gets rescinded when the pups have gone to their new homes and already have the registration.
Do the KC wait to have approval for online registrations or do they just trust it is all OK unless they hear otherwise?

I think it's the latter.

My changing of ownership & adding of affix then adding breeder into joint ownership is taking ages!
Took 3 weeks for original online ownership change, been 3 weeks since i sent my adding affix form (card was charged 2 days after posting so i know they've received it)
So it'll be another month before i can change the ownership to add breeder back on
Must just be luck of the draw and i ended up with the slow staff lol
