The warning has come up on mine too, which is strange as I have viewed Brainless' site before with no problems....from this same pc with the same anti-virus software!!!!!
- By ceejay Date 04.05.12 17:41 UTC
Just checked Barbara's web page myself - absolutely fine!  Something to do with your antivirus software perhaps?
- By Celli [gb] Date 04.05.12 19:39 UTC
I'm getting it too, I've got the paid version of AVG.
- By Luna [gb] Date 04.05.12 19:52 UTC
I got in with no problems. Funny I've read/ lurked on here for years on and off...always assumed 'Brainless' was a man....I guess a 'brainless' man just seemed more likely :)))

BTW whatever happened to the poster called Isobel?
- By Lea Date 04.05.12 20:05 UTC

- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.05.12 23:00 UTC
Maybe because your going through the avatar which has nothing to do with my website.  Try going through the link on my profile.  Alternatively just Google my affix and breed.
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 05.05.12 08:12 UTC
I'm on google chrome, ips is virginmedia and I even copied the www address into a new tab and it come up with a warning for me too Brainless. for the amount of money it sometimes costs I wouldn't be happy if people couldn't read my site. :0)
Worth looking into? (I don't know your affix so can't do it that way)
Paula

Sounds like Google chrome playing silly buggers.

My website host ISP is virgin and I know they have pretty strong protection.  could be Chrome doesn't like the counters and guest book provided by Bravenet, as it carries adverts if you go into the guestbook.

I have always stuck with Internet Explorer despite it's problems as the others do not support Windows high contrast colour schemes that I use to give me dark background and light text in my chosen colours and sizes to suit my visual problems.
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 05.05.12 10:33 UTC
It opened first time in explorer. Nice site :-)
- By JoStockbridge [gb] Date 05.05.12 11:28 UTC

- By jackbox Date 05.05.12 11:41 UTC
Just tried on chrome and  explore, chrome gives the warning explore no problem.
- By ceejay Date 05.05.12 11:56 UTC

> I've got the paid version of AVG

so have I Celli!  Hope it is working OK - will give it a check now.
- By ceejay Date 05.05.12 11:58 UTC
Oh it is OK - I use IE too - so no problems.
- By PDAE [gb] Date 05.05.12 12:40 UTC
I believe that Virgin's protection isn't very good that's why at my works we can't go even on their website!

There's no problems with my computer accessing it.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 05.05.12 14:04 UTC
Well I wish it wasn't so tight on email as I am forever having to rescue stuff out of Spam.

Can't seewhy there would be a problem as my site is very basic (text and jpgs), only other things on it are links, and the bravenet counters and guest book.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 05.05.12 14:15 UTC
I have tried to find a way of contacting google Chrome admin, but all I get is forums, how do I contact the techie folk to unblock my site?
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 05.05.12 15:00 UTC
have you tried these steps? I have only read them briefly so it might not apply to you?

Barbara, there's nothing wrong with your site - I've viewed it ok on IE, Firefox and Chrome today. If some people are having a problem, it could be their antivirus software as sometimes this throws up "false positives" for sites that are perfectly ok. I've had this with AVG in the past but use Avast now and it's quite happy with your site ;-)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 05.05.12 16:28 UTC
No not any help as Google itself lists my site highly, it's usually one of the first few sites in the UK that come up when my breed is typed into a Google search..
- By Brainless [gb] Date 05.05.12 16:29 UTC
Thanks, I use free AVG software and never have issues.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 05.05.12 19:54 UTC
Hi Barb,

I'm using Google Chrome on a mac and I'm having the same problems. The problem is that it is listing Lycos as the host (of at least one part of your site is hosted with Lycos.nl, which is a server in the Neverlands I believe) Do you have any images or anything hosted on a Lycos server?

Lycos is a free web host and therefore I think maybe someone somewhere has used a Lycos host to host something naughty and therefore it is on Chrome's 'blacklist' or similar.

I can send you a screenshot of the error message I'm getting to forward onto your webhosting provider if you'd like.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 05.05.12 19:59 UTC
Looking at your site's source code, the site used to host the 'Previous' 'List' 'Random' 'Join' and 'Next' buttons was found to be hosting suspicious stuff in the past 90 days. Google tested 71 pages on that particular host and one of them was found to be hosting malware that would infect people's computers.

The best way to stop this happening is to take the buttons off your site, or simply right click and save them, and then upload them yourself manually. Although it is probably not a problem what so ever, the image's webhost has been identified as malware and those with more sensitive browser settings will be getting this message and potentially stopping them viewing your site!

From the diagnostics page, it seems that the stuff hosted on lycos, was using content from another host that has malware on it and that is why it's being flagged up. Annoying but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

:-)  :-)

Not only is she not a man - she is far from Brainless!  :-)  :-)  :-)

I do upload my site manually using the Serif Webplus what'sit.

Most of your message is gobledegook to me I'm afraid. :)

So in plain language what page do I have to reload and what specific links?

My main pages are hosted with blueyonder (virgin) and my litter pages with awardspace.  I have the whole of my deceased friends website on there too http://ravenstone.awardspace.com/ and I get teh safe bubble come up with that.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 06.05.12 12:44 UTC
Hi Barb,

Those images are actually stored on a lycos web server somewhere but are being displayed on your site. I'll private message you the pictures so you can see them and remove them.

Josh

Right on the quick flash of the button before I also got a warnign wehn Parrysite gave me the embedded lycos link, it seems to be the webring for the Europen Pomeranina, Kees and spitz webring.

I doubt it generates much traffic, so if it's causing issues will remove it.

Can someone check the site once it's gone?  Off to do it now.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 06.05.12 14:56 UTC
Edited version uploaded now.
- By parrysite [gb] Date 06.05.12 14:57 UTC
I am no longer getting a message :)
- By Paula Dal [gb] Date 06.05.12 16:27 UTC
Working just fine for me now too :-) xxxx
- By Brainless [gb] Date 06.05.12 16:37 UTC
so it was the webring Gif linking to Lycos sites which were being blacklisted.
