Hi again. Have just bought Tyler some Glucosamine Sulphate capsules 500mg. Does anybody know how many i should be giving him. Also wondering whether to give them whole in case they are not digested and pop out the other end or if to split them and put contents over food!

Harley,
1 a day is fine.
I roll the tablet in a bit of chicken roll or cold meat and pop in their mouths then tilt their heads back until they have swallowed. Simple. :-)

I'd start off with one morning and one evening for about a week and then drop down to one a day.
I'd feed it whole as well. :)

Just to be awkward I give same quantity but crush it and mix with food, I assume you mean a crushable tablet if it is a Jelly type with liquid it's best to pierce it and squeeze over food

Hi Anne. Its actually capsule form with powder inside which is easy to split open and put powder straight on to food.

Capsules are designed to be digested but if you prefer to sprinkle the powder onto a spoonful or two of tinned meat then none should be wasted.

Helps to start witha "booster" dose of 4 per day for a week (per my vet anyway) then go to 1-2 per day.
As someone elses says liquid is better. I found Synflex (from www.activexamerica.com) which has kept my Lab sound all winter, even when working hard. It is a glucosamine/chondroitin mix with added herbal ingerdients for pain/fluid relief etc.
Taz is 28Kg, and has 3ml per day (every other day now as I have adjusted his dosage).
The cost is nicely comparable, even allowing for shipment in, if you enter the sweepstake they may send a USD5 off voucher. There are a couple of agents in the UK, but the direct cost isn't much different.
