I know there is a Days inn between Stafford and Preston but the reviews have put me off so far. Perhaps it's improved?

Any other ideas ideas please?

We've not been to that particular one, but the two more south west that we've been to were lovely. Just been to the Strensham one on the M5 for WELKS and it was very pleasant.

We always use Days Inn now, as much as possible anyway in the UK for shows.  Generally cheaper than Travelodge, and much cleaner.  Possibly the one with bad reviews is a particularly busy one in the vicinity of the motorway?  Is there someone local to the area you could ask to go and check it out?

Thanks all, we usually use them

I know someone who stayed at the Holiday Inn Express nr to Stafford (M6 J13) and said it was very good.  Dogs are allowed by arrangement at £10 per dog

To be honest the Days Inn is a budget hotel, as long as it's clean then I'm happy to stay there!

I never found a problem at the Stafford Days Inn but then again I only paid £10 for my room so it'd have to been in a right state to complain about!

The Holiday Inn Stafford is not really much better/worse than the Days Inn, only difference is you get a breakfast provided.

Yes I stayed here this weekend for WELKS, it was lovely............but strange to find out a guest had left their cat in the room and were half way up to Scotland when the hotel called them!
The cleaning staff had been in & not spotted it and when the next guests went into the room the cat appeard ha ha

Gosh well if there is a free cat my dogs would love to stay.

I'll give it a go only a night anyway

We stayed at the Days Inn at the stafford services between junction 15 & 16 on the southbound M6 last year and it was great.
