I'm in the process of renovating a cottage. Ok maybe I'm gutting it, creating the blank canvas for the trades people to come in and do their thang!! Lol
Anyway on most of the downstairs flooring the previous people have almost superglued these Lino type tiles onto the real tiles.. In some areas I have tiles upon tiles upon tiles.. Some are coming up easily others not so.
I just need to know if anyone knows of any product/solution which can be poured on which will dissolve said glue in order to remove flooring easily..
These people have nailed down carpet upon carpet and on the stairs they have used back door mats as underlay. All the nails have rusted so it's been a hard task sorting this part out.. I have nails sticking out of the floorboards all over the shop :-/

When removing old lino tiles from the hall in our previous house, OH used an old iron (well it was by the time he'd finished) to heat them up, melting the gue & then used a scrapper to ease them up. Laborious but it worked, good luck.

I have no electricity in the building so going to have to be something I purchase, so a liquid of solution only. My Dad said use a hair dryer, I said you've turned off the electricity!! Lol

PMSL, you don't know me and how accident prone I am.. Ummm think I may just leave that one!!!

Sue I have a useful friend who has been renovating a house and is just about to start his next project will ask him
I would be tempted to try wd40 or possibly nail varnish remover or sugar soap?

I take it you have the actual tool for lifting floor tiles. Like a sharp scraper thing on a longer stick(I'm so technical!!lol)? We used this to lift our tiles but it is a horrible, long task. I couldn't find anything to take the glue off.
