Hi

I was wondering if anyone can recommend any car seat belt-harnesses? I have trawled through the internet and there are so many varieties by so many companies!

Many thanks :-)

I've always used the RAC ones, doubles as a walking harness too :-)

We've got an ancol one but I find it to be awful, it's a fiddle getting the dog into it even though he fully complies and the clips always seem to be twisting.
I like my doxlock harness for ease in the car, it's not a specific car harness but I clip a short handle loop onto the d ring and thread the seat belt through the loop.

Does anyone use one where the dog can lie down? My dogs don't sit comfortably so one that requires them to do so would be useless for me.

I think mine is Ancol, red and black I got it because it is well padded and goes into the seatbelt clip as my girl wanders a bit.  she could lie in it but close to the seatbelt clip thing.  Alternatively you can thread the seatbelt through a loop which would allow a bit more freedom.  I think most have that option

i've got one thats just like a strap that clicks into the seatbelt holder and then clips onto my dogs harness.  This is only good if your dog wears a harness to go out in though.  With this, she can lie down, get up, lie the other way....!  I got it from amazon for less than £10 but cant remember the make.  We all have one in our cars then its there whenever she gets in anyones car for her to clip on.

Thanks everyone! I don't use a harness for walks so it's strictly for travel purposes. I've got a few more options to look into now as I haven't heard of Doxlock before!

Most ordinary harnessess used for walking are not suitable as car restraints if a crash happens. The ordinary plastic clips can snap apart with force very easily.

I use one that is specially made so that the one plastic clip is covered and there are really tough loops that you clip on to. I have a contraption that clips to this and goes in the seat belt fastener.

we have a normal harness on one of our dogs and bought a thing that plugs into the seat belt and clips onto her normal harness got it from pets at home you can adjust the length on it as well been usingit for about a month now and it is brilliant
