I do not possess a credit card and in reality don't want to, but unfortunately there are some things online that you cannot purchase unless you have one.

I have the money in my account so prefer to pay for things there and then.

Is there a credit card that is used worldwide where I can just purchase something and pay for it straight away so I have no debt on my card?

That would be a debit card then :)  You can pay your bill fully every month and never owe any interest. This is what I do for the convenience of being able to not carry cash and have never paid any interest for the 30 odd years or so that I have had a card.

I have a natwest debit card but this cannot be used for many things as they say credit cards only. I'm wanting to pay for an export pedigree in Spain at the moment and they dont accept Visa debit cards. I'm loathed to pay out anymore when their charges r extortionate enough as it is.

You always will have to pay one way or another when paying abroad because it costs who ever is dealing with the transaction to change the currency.  All you can do is look at the cheapest way.
Martin Lewis lists a few cards specialising in this area here
A quite look at the charging set up you have a choice of paying for the transaction or paying interest even if you settle the bill at first sight so I think you will have to work out the best option for the amount you are about to use it for.

Do paypal accept payment by debit card?

I use a credit card but always pay each month so I am never in debt.

I use pay pal for anything that doesn't take Visa as I refuse to have a Credit card.

When I came back to this country I had no credit so couldn't get a normal credit card.

I got myself a cashplus card which has 2 options; one for building credit and the other a pre pay credit card.

I just use it as a pre pay credit card now, put a few pounds on it every month and then spend it at Xmas. But, it is a mastercard and can be used worldwide the same as any other credit card, you just need to make sure you have enough money on it as they don't give credit. You can either pay £4.99 a month for unlimited transactions or, if you don't plan to use it much, just pay 99p per transaction :)

Yes Paypal do accept debit card payments. This is how I buy online for my mother, using my PP accouint linked to her Debit card as she doesn't trust websites where you have to key in the card details every time you buy something.

Yes definitely.  My Paypal is linked to my ordinary bank account.
