Hi, i just wondered when the best age is to advertise puppies and what is a good age for people to view them?

i advertise on kc wedsite when the reg forms have gone back or reg them online, so around 3weeks old ,i let ppl come from 4weeks to meet the litter :)

If you haven't already got a full waiting list, then advertise from when you register them, at about 2 weeks. People can come and view them from 4 or 5 weeks, when they're getting on their feet and developing their personalities. No point before then.

Some will advertise in the later stages of pregnancy to generate interest.Viewings from around 4 weeks onwards.

I advertised from about 2 weeks old or so, with letting people view at 5-6 weeks, though one local lady had been on the list for a while so she visited each week from 3 weeks onwards.

Full waiting list now so hopefully won't have to advertise!

I advertised mine soon after birth tbh once I knew how many boys and girls I had but didn't allow viewings till much later.

About a year or two before they are born in my case. :)

ive had full waiting lists with my litters but ive always had 1 or 2 drop out last min so advertiseing with kc is good , and ive always had so many calls i just pass them on to other good breeders i know in my breed :)

My pups are usually sold before being born many before the mating. if u have to advertise then I wd do it b4 mating and get a waiting list.

I advertised at about 3-4 weeks as I just wanted to enjoy them and take time to think about which pup I wanted to keep without having people breathing down my neck to make a decision (fully understandable as they would want to make plans/know they defirnitely had a pup etc but just didn't want the pressure).

I tell everyone that I will not make a decision until they are around 3 to 4 weeks as to what's happening to the pups.  I still send everyone an e-mail with photo's etc. though.

If I don't have orders for pups then a mating does not take place :-o I also don't make a decision which home has which pup until they're 6 weeks old. I should have thought if you already have a litter without homes for all pups, then early advertising would be better, you can still enjoy them but let people know when decisions/chosing will be done.
