Topic Dog Boards / Health / Discharge after whelping

How long is normal for a bitch to discharge post whelping?  The litter is 5 weeks old and Mum is still occasionally discharging a red mucous discharge.  She is well in herself and the discharge is not at all foul smelling, is this normal after 5 weeks?

Have seen it for 8 weeks, 5 weeks is fine unless it seems smelly or wrong in any other way.

Thanks Goldmali, I now feel reassured all's normal.
