Had a very disappointing experience with a really rude judge recently. I'm not letting it put me off but it did leave me feeling a bit... meh. A lot of people outside the ring said I should have just walked out but I think that makes the exhibitor look bad. I felt it best to just remain mannerly and leave at the end.... Can't go into specifics on a public forum but has anyone else dealth with a rude judge?

Have known judges that are less than courteous but not down right rude but then that is a matter of perception. Was this person rude to you, about you or about your handling?
I have been under judges that have been snappy and impatient with exhibitors. I just ignore them and think, well you are not getting my entry again. After 15 plus years of showing I can shrug it off but a judge with a bad attitude can completely put off a newbie for life.

Ive seen them all.....The rude, the indiferent and the down right bored out of their skull type judges...all of which should never be allowed to judge.
When you think of all the keen, enthusiastic and knowledgeable people on the way up, the grumpies should be told to sling their hook!!

Yes, met the abrupt, inpatient and those who ask you to move and then don't watch as you bust a gut but I don't think I have ever had one rude to me and if I did I think I would report it.
For me as long as my dog is being treated well I ignore the judges mood but there is no excuse for rudeness and I can think what, in such a short time, they can find to be rude about.

To me :-/
It won't put me off but I imagine it would have put off anyone less 'assertive' if that's the correct word in this context. It just made me a bit grumpy!!

No don't let it worry you but I would complain, no one has the right to be rude to you particularly the judge you have paid for an opinion. Personal rudeness by a judge is defiantly something that needs reporting, abrupt correction has to be put up with.
For example to say (not that I ever would) that was nothing like a triangle do it again, is abrupt, unpleasant but can be put up with - but - to say, I asked for a triangle you must be deaf or daft do it again, is rude and should be reported.
IMO personal remarks should never be tolerated.

I feel this was on the level that could be put up with, I wouldnt' report it. I did hear a lot of other complaints on the day so who knows if someone else will report it though.

I feel this was on the level that could be put up withThen just forget it Inka and remember not to enter under that judge again. Who knows what had happened to put them in a bad mood or perhaps that is just the way they are but even if their spouse walked out the night before they should not take it out on their exhibitors who are, after all, their clients.

It was an international judge so the opportunity won't come to enter under them again. Thankfully!
It wasn't due to their english coming over badly ?

Probably not, to be honest, but to someone new to showing who has had such good experiences so far it was a bit of a shock! Then when people (that i don't know!) kept coming up to me for the rest of the day to give out about it, i sort of felt even grumpier then! But i'll gt over it, just good to vent :D
