speaking as a larger lass myself i'd say simply be. they have a great range that is make for bigger sizes rather than just small styles made larger. Had  quick look there and there are loads of grey, also a fair amount of slate blue which might be nice as its smart but a little different? Will show up a black dog nicely as well i would think. They are not cheap but the products are generally good and I personally am happy to pay for comfort and fit.

and the word is voluptuous, from the latin 'voluptua' meaning "the pleasure" ;)

Mine came from Shapely Figures.

actually, worth mentioning, shapely figures as well as a number of other online catalogues are sister companies of simply be, so if you sign up for one you can order from them all, including crazy clearence the sale site.

Evans? If you find a nice mid grey suit anywhere let me know, I could do with a new one and I'm something around an 18/20.

I would also  try ebay, being a 'slight' (not) girlie myself, ive alsways bought most of my jackets etc from there

I tried that once and it was nowhere near the size it claimed to be. :-(

I have had some nice stuff from Damart, Daxon and Bonmarche, you don't say your age so they may be a bit old for you, but they all do roomy sizes, and are cut for the fuller figure. Also Debenhams and House of Fraser have a good choice.

If you are careful about fabric Evans is much better than it used to be  - you may just need to avoid the their habit of breaking into glitter at inappropriate moments!!  Ann Harvey are pretty good at smart clothes and have a nice online site but if you can get to a store they will carry a much larger range including sale items.  Have a look at Artigiano and Spirito Di Artigiano as they go up to a size 28 I think.  Elvi used to be quite good but I'm not sure if they are still around on the High St...

Gray & Osbourne mail order carry brands with sizes up to 26.  Some of these brands crop up in larger sizes at TK Maxx if you have one near you and/or can be bothered to rummage!

Good luck :)
