Interesting to see that the winner was no other than the Bulldog Mellowmood One In A Million. Theres one in the eye to the neighsayers i guess.

I read that, just to me it feels that maybe someone was trying to make a point? If so not the way to win IMO. Just hope it was the best dog on the day... Cynical me??

Yeah i know what you mean however its 3 foreign judges so i would think not.

Absolutely. A fine achievement with a fabulous dog, one which is a great example of the breed. Credit where it's due.

who were the judges ?

Think it a bit mean minded to suggest that it won on anything more than merit.

Apologies.. With 3 foreign judges then I'm probably way off the mark. There will be lots of people thinking it and I just said it... Not saying its not worthy as it is a ch, however with everything that's gone on there are some judges that like to be controversial.. But appears I'm a little off the mark!!
So apologies to the Bulldog and it's owners!

> as it is a ch,

It's a top winning individual, at breed and group level not just a champion.

Well done your boy, and you gave all the others a chance by staying away, LOL ;)

I stood and watched this bitch in the group at Midland Cos last winter. I did a double take, she is outstanding, moderate and athletic.
Im not a fan of heavy, lumbering breathless dogs but this bitch is fit and light footed and I was instantly a fan of her and her breeders for moving in that direction.
THAT is why I was so upset for her and her breeders when she was DQ from BOB at Crufts.
The vision, the execution of their aims and the drive these people have .....should have been rewarded. Im so glad it has been recognised at the CofC........Im proud to be seen as a dog breeder alongside these people.

I to am not a fan of brachycephalic and achondroplastic breeds.

Agree with the whole of your post, it is why I was so gob smacked at the DQ as had been in favour of the Vet checks, and in fact think they should apply across the board.

I thought this bitch more moderate than the example being shown on the TV as a moderate example.

Must have been so dissapointing to have the efforts of such breeding being trashed, and of course if I am not mistaken she had been passed at the trial run of the checks (she shows as being BOB)  at BUBA.
