Can anyone (perhaps John?) tell me if Drakeshead are still breeding Labradors? In a few years we will be wanting a black lab, and Drakeshead seem to be nearest to the look we want - old-fashioned, lighter built working type. And I will be looking for a b/t show-type cocker - is there a line that does good, practical examples of these? Many, many year ago we had a Colinwood, who was very good - I will be looking for something similar.

i know a working line with itin, mail me ill give you details, pics too i think,

Many thanks, all :) It's good to know that, when we've got space for another dog, we're likely to be able to find the type we want. (Oh, for a lottery win, and a huge house and garden!!)
My parents had Colinwood cockers, I remember Colinwood Wardance being on one pedigree (this is going back years ago (1950's). I know someone who is going to use a Drakeshead stud on his bitch, and Drakeshead were at the game fair last year so - yes, they still have dogs.

There we are, Lorna's answered you :) Drakeshead: John and Sandra Halstead. Some of the countries top working Labradors.

Phyllis & Peter Woolf (Colinwood) still have the odd litter of particoloured Cockers but concentrate on their Labs more these days. Let me know if you want their contact details, although they no longer breed solids so you would have to look elsewhere if you wanted a b/t. Not many breeders specialise in b/ts although I can think of a couple of breeders who might be able to help. Email me if you want their details (shenmore@clara.co.uk)
