Sorry I should have explained better . No he is not vomiting he eats good and his stools are normal , but he has like a thickening skin and he is chewing the fur off his body . We moved to a new house and noticed he was itching found a flea and give him a treatment of generation that was 1 month ago and he is a mess . He had ear infections I got that cleared up and his one eye was oozing . I got that cleared up I cant seem to clear this skin condition up . I have been giving him bath`s in a shampoo for severe dermatitis . And have been giving him a capsule of Cod Liver Oil each day and have been giving him IAMS Lamb and Rice with oil on it . He seems to be drinking alot like 5 bowls of water a day this he never did . Any advice ~?

As you've recently moved could there be something in the water he's drinking that's upsetting his skin? Or the carpets might have been cleaned with something and that's causing a contact dermatitis?

I hope you get to the bottom of things - it sounds really horrible for the poor thing :(

How long ago did you move ? Do you think it could be down to the stress of moving house ?
Or maybe he has developed an allergy ?
I would definately take him back to the vet

Hi there,

Here are my offerings.

I personally would go back to the vet medication will bridge time until you try some of the following to get on top of it.

Do not bath him in anything but Hibiscrub or Malaseb preferably the Hibiscrub.

Thornit powder will help his ears it is avaliable from here http://www.championpets.freeserve.co.uk/ears.htm

Carpets can cause a lot of problems as they are dusty, My bitch westie gets itchy on the carpets so she does not get on the carpeted area which luckily for me is basically upstairs, Kitchen, Lounge, Diner, etc are all tiled or wooden floored.

All bedding should be washed every couple of days with a mild non Bio such as fairy washing powder temp at least 60 degrees

Try him on a more natural diet, IMHO westies DO NOT benefit from Complete diets. Seearch the net for BARF and RAW diets, alternatively try AMP/Prize choice products avaliable from most large pet shops they are also very good. Very good book that is easy to follow and is inexpensive is natural nutrition for dogs and cats THE ULTIMATE DIET by Kymythy R.Schultze it is available from http://www.caninenaturalcures.co.uk/books2.html

Aloe vera, apple cider vinegar in his water but just a littler of the ACV. Omaga fish oils, evening primrose oil are all very good supplements.

This won't cure him over night but it is at least a start. Could you find a homeopathic practitioner near you.
