Maybe they need to nip down the vet to get her progesterone tested, may be your closing the door after the horse has bolted !

Edited to say my youngest is in season now, I was wiping her every day as I kew she was due but otherwise at 6 days today she is very very clean ! no drips, or obvious signs, and with a heavy coat hard to see anything.
ive told her re testing merlot she said she dont bother useing them :( she didnt use them with her bitches mother and did it this way, so looks like its going to be a long week or so :(
thats given me hope merlot, thankyou il keep u updated!

Hmm.. don't put you boy in danger !
If she is not playing and they refuse to follow your advice re testing then maybe they should look elswhere.
I have had some nightmare bitches brought to me in the past (Not my current breed) and have turned more than one away for fear of hurting my boy. Just not worth it if people refuse to ensure they are at least near the right day ! A really bad expieriance could put your lad off his game for ages.

yes sound advise thankyou, i will speak with her again tonight about testing, it most be costing her at least £10 a trip and if she not ready yet she will save on that so the cost will even out...im just guessing its about the cost but i could be totaly wrong!

Another thought - if this bitch owner prefers not to progesterone test ...... is this because they don't want to spend the money?! Not the right attitude when planning a litter :-( I agree, this could be detrimental to your young dog.

The thought that struck me is, how responsible is this person? If I am planning to mate a bitch I will check her every day to see if she has come into season and would not miss the start -even if it means checking daily for a month or more. It's too important not to. I also hope she will not be living outside when having pups.
ive already asked her that goldmali and she isnt..we have spoke in length before the mateing and she 1st got intouch over a year ago after she had been looking for right pedigree and look of dog to suit her bitch, dont get me wrong she knows her stuff re this breed but i still find it hard about her not checking her season and not testing!

she lives outside ... oh i couldnt live without my girls indoors :(
we have 2 live outside thay dont like coming in but will when in whelp(now spayed)
