Has anyone here any knowledge about this trainer eith good or bad. I am interested in doing a residential course and wondered about this one ?

Ask me on Sunday - I am going on a four day course with him, starting thursday! (I am excited and terrified in equal measure to be honest, not because of him, but because I am a social wimp!).

excellent which one have you booked and where ? Dogs are brilliant to help with the social stuff dont worry it will be fine

Have been on several of his courses, including a 5 dayer, all excellent imo. I now live about 15 mins from him, pure coincidence lol. Moira Rogerson held a Susanne Jaffa w/end at their house last July so can also say I know his house a little bit too now lol.

Its the Puppy development one in Birmingham - ill be fine once i GET there (at the Ian Dunbar seminar I went to I was even brave enough to ask sensible questions in front of looooads of people!) its the neurotic worrying before thats the problem. I can find a MILLION things to panic about, all of which are utterly stupid!

With the posts I've read from theemx when helping folks questions on training and behaviour, I am sure that it will be a breeze and you will be fine.  Enjoy it!  :-)

I can't say as I agree with all his views, but I still think he's one of the "good un's" he was brilliant a few years ago when the rescue my friend ran got him in for an aggressive dog, really practical and down to earth, really nice guy, and  very entertaining at his seminars.

Yes, in the early days there was a lot of dominance theory floating around but pleased to say most people worked out that dogs weren't trying to take over the planet and if they ate before you or slept on your bed it didn't mean that you were below them in the pecking order lol.

I am getting really excited now - I am going with a friend (internet friend I have met a few times and 'known' for years) so it will be four solid days and evenings of dog behaviour/dog training talk!

John is a good trainer, behaviourist and was a great competitor and judge, also the first KCAI (BehAWTA) if I remember correctly.

If you are lucky, you will learn a lot and enjoy yourself.
