Today I was about to throw out some old stained pillows, then thought I'd just see what happens...............

Usually my dogs shred any beds they have, so all they now get is replaceable vet bed in a plastic oval bed.

So far so good :) I have just left it on the floor and they are lovingly sharing it to lie on. (they are small enough).

I will keep you posted, But have no intentions of making any covering for them as yet if ever.

My sheltie shreds anything like a cushion or a blanket, all my beds are now the raised type with a piece of vet bedding on top, she can't nibble the webbing and doesn't like eating vet bed, lol. The other dogs all love their raised beds too

The last piece of vetbed which went into Rosie's bed (border collie) is now suitable for confetti :-( she has shredded it, I wish she didn't like eating vet bed :-( My shelties are less destructive than the collies though :-)

I bought the raised beds at Crufts and my BCs love them.  Woulnd't go back to normally on the ground beds any more

Be careful if they are polyester type fillings. They can be very dangerous if swallowed acting like fishing line around the intestines

dvnbiker - what make of raised beds, please? Been interested in for many years ... the first I ever saw was about 25 years ago in a high Alpine mountain hut!! Long before I was aware of them in the UK! Never been too convinced about them though!

Actually, I don't know why I'm even asking about a dog bed ... who needs dog beds when there's a big sofa to lounge on?!!! :-D Sofa gets full up so remaining collie dogs lay along the back of sofa ... maybe I just invest in BIG raised dog bed for me!

I smiled at that.  I have a photo of my Border Collie boy lying on the back of the sofa with his bone!  Took it up there away from the toy dogs.

I like the original ones as well, their customer service is really good too. I couldn't get the webbing on the frame of one of mine and they sent out some new slightly shorter cross poles straight away (and a dog toy as a sorry for the inconvenience), the first bed I bought a couple of years ago still looks as good as the new ones!
