I will be sending samples to Dr Dodds for full thyroid panels on April 2nd/3rd, if anyone needs to get their dogs tested you are welcome to add their samples to the box and we can all save a bit on the shipping cost (£63.45 plus packaging). :-)

Hi,

any idea yet if there is much interest in this shipment and how much it might work out at for each sample for shipping - also is the cheque for the testing send directly to Jean Dodds or to you  to go with sample?

I understand that my vet takes the blood , prepares as instructed on Hemopet web site and then I just send in ordinary post to you ( non refrigerated) If blood was taken on  Thursday29th and posted to you would it still be OK by the time it gets to USA?

Have you had many tests done by Jean Dodds - are you happy with results?
sorry to bombared you with questions!

thanks, Linda

So far besides my own two dogs I have one other person and two possibles, I'll just be splitting the above shipping cost between the final number of people.  So right now it's definitely £31ish for the two of us, if the two possibles join in then it's £15.50ish each, and so on.  I'll stop taking "orders" the wednesday before I think, so I've got time to let people know the final shipping cost.  Looks likely it'll be the 3rd to make sure I can get my guys done the day before without missing any post.

According to the website, serum is viable for up to 14 days after drawing assuming no extremes of hot weather - this time of year it should be ok.  That said the smaller the gap between drawing and testing the better I reckon.  Won't need refrigerating, no.

If I post on the 3rd it'll get there the following Monday.  Just within time if you draw on the 29th but cutting it close - but I think the closer to shipping the better, so the 30th or even the 1st and send it by special delivery, then it'll get to me first thing on the 3rd.  If I get a lot of interest then I might bump it up to Priority shipping - that takes 2 days.  We'll see though, it's an extra £20 overall.

I've had 3 pairs of bloods testing by JD now (from 3 different dogs) and I've been happy with it - the results are clear and I get them direct as I put my email on the form for that.

Payment - yep, send it to me, I'll then pay for everything on my card.  The test itself is $80 (currently about £51).

I hope that made sense lol!

Right, I've double-checked with Dr D and the samples will be fine for 10-14 days.  I'm definitely shipping the 3rd now, the other definite person has to have their dog done on the saturday evening so can't get them in the post to me til the Monday anyway.

Another update - 4 sets of samples going in the box now, one more likely and a few possible.  With the timings that are coming up for taking/sending samples to me, I'm now going to send it Priority so it reaches the lab on Thursday 5th, that is £80 but with 4 people already and more looking likely, it'll be pretty cheap :-)
