You may not be able to see it on the picture. IMO scans for numbers should be taken with a pinch of salt, you have her confirmed in whelp so just wait and see what she delivers, there may be a few hiding or none at all (hiding).
I always get my girls scanned - I can't wait, but then I can't wait until Christmas Day if I know there's a present for me in the house either!!! So, that's my reasoning.
My vet has good results at 28 days ... he points the pups out to me, in truth he could be pointing out anything to me, they are mere blobs! It could be a blob of wind as far as I can tell! There's a definite skill to reading scans, specially when the pups present themselves as blobs - walnut sized in my breed :-O
He usually says there are 5 ... that is all he can fit into one screen image, once he moves the scanner the screen picture moves so he's unable to say for sure whether any additional blobs viewed have already been counted. The first litter he said 5 or more, we had 6. 2nd litter he said definitely 5, probably 6 and thought more, we had 8. I'd settle and be happy with the confirmation she's in whelp too :-)
Hope all goes well :-D
