Hi . When my Wilma gave birth to her puppies ,the biggest on was 810 grams which I thought was really big, but  I assume others have had even bigger pups.
Wilmas pups were born on day 65.

Tell me, how big was your biggest surviving pup and how small was the smallest surviving pup? And what day were they born?
Thanks and have wonderful ,sunny day!!

Cavaliers - a litter of 2 born a week early, 10 and 10.5 oz at birth, both grew up to be large stocky boys. Then a litter of 1 born 2 days late by c-section, 10.75 oz at birth, grew up to be a small skinny picky little madam!

My biggest was 212g, but her sister (who I kept back and is only a little smaller than the biggest pup now) was a measly 100g. She was strong though and no one had any trouble at all.

Norwegian Elkhounds, adult bitches weigh around 20kg.

Have had smallest pup of 6oz, and largest pup 20oz.  Most usually pups have been between 9 - 14oz.  Book of the bitch gives average weight for teh breed as 10 - 12oz.

Most pups regardless of birth weight have been  9 - 11 pounds, with smallest at just under 9 pounds and largest over 12.

Oh an Ounce or oz = 28g,  there are 16oz to a pound

Long Coat Chihuahua

Largest pup a whopping 7.5ozs!!!   Which ended up under 6lbs as an adult, so still within the breed standard.

Smallest surviving 2.75ozs and she made just under 5lbs as an adult, so within standard.

This breed does not help you to "guesstimate" adult weight.  I once had a family come to choose a bitch puppy, and the father didn't want a tiny adult.  I recommended they look at the largest bitch, who was a good 100gms heavier than her 2 sisters.  Dad was happy with that.  All 3 pups owners kept in touch, and little miss big knickers is the smallest adult!  :-)

I offered to have her back, and mum and both daughters said dad had been outvoted, as they loved her!
