I am part of the team who make arrangements for my office for charity fund raising. One of our events is our charity ball, which brings in a lot of money and we are generally very proud of the event.

This year we are thinking about a circus theme and I was wondering if you all had any thoughts on things that we could do entertainment and decor wise? We do have a lot of things in motion already, for example I have friends who do fire work and will do some poi etc for free and we are thinking of a candy floss stand and having loads of sweeties to make the centre pieces.

we are in scotland so if anyone knows any acts who might appreciate a chance to make an impression on some fairly influential people who might book them for other things let me know, and what at an event like this would make you want to spend money? :)

whats the charity?

At a party we went to recently there was a tightrope, it was a very low one but we could take turns to have a go and it was very popular. I guess you can hire these things, it was a very simple piece of equipment and you could ask people for a donation to have a go or make a charge? After a few drinks its also quite hilarious!

can't really say as that will flag the company (thought i think a few folk know who i work for, but not supposed to name names online...)

Elly that sounds awesome but I suspect might be dangerous is ball gowns!

COuld maybe hire someone to do it though.
