Hi all, hope someone can help, ive always kept bitches but kept a male out of a litter 9 months ago.. not for breeding purposes which is just as well because he only has one ball dropped!! so hes gotta have an op, its just now his mum has come in season so hes getting some very interesting smells,  saw dog nappies advertised, has anyone tried them on their bitches, mums in a crate when im out.. thanks

We use bitch season pants, but would NEVER trust them with a dog around.  They 'can' get themselves out of them, so could the dog.  I wouldn't just have her in a crate I'd have her in a separate room where he can't get into.

I don't keep dogs and bitches (though almost just did) for precisely the reason that I don't want accidents.  I know that most people who do tend, as a rule, to have 2 doors between the dog and bitch.  If it was me and I had kept a boy this time I'd have been sending him to 'camp' with a friend during that time.

Nappies are for urinary incontinent bitches, then you have sanitary pants which are for avoiding blood on your floor and furniture. NEITHER will stop the dog from mating the bitch or being worked up at the smell I'm afraid. You have no other option but to separate dog and bitch ALL the time, not just when you are out. I currently have 4 bitches in season and 3 entire male dogs going nuts so I know the feeling LOL.

My bitch is in season and my youngest boy has been a nightmare, wont eat sleep or leave her alone. If we had closer dog friendly family which we dont its either 10 cats or animalmessaphobia, my mum is aaaages away then he would have stayed there. but we have just had to put up with it both are crated and separated when im not around. He finally ate something tonight, but im glad ive not got any shows he looks a mess.
