Topic Dog Boards / Health / BVA Hip Score Vets Ireland

I'm looking for any recommendations for vets in Ireland that provide BVA hip & elbow scoring.
I hear of these vets in the UK that can give an honest opinion on the score and are usually pretty close.

Whereas the vets i've used in Ireland to date, have been pretty awful at giving an opinion.

It's nice, but the important thing is that they get a well positioned x-ray, ti is after all the scrutineers opinions that count and every plate should be submitted good or bad.

Most plates are read within 3 weeks, so there is really no issue.

The vets who usually make a good guess are Orthopaedic specialists.

I totally agree its all to do with the positioning, but if you have an Vet that is crap at positioning then you end up with a bad score as opposed to a correct score.

You will end up with a couple of points maybe higher, but the BVA won't accept really poor plates.
