Oh my goodness, how adorable is Widget the little rescue doing agility?  :)
- By vinya Date 08.03.12 13:16 UTC
Shame theres no breed judging. :(
- By NatalieH [gb] Date 08.03.12 13:44 UTC
i know , i have been checking fosse throughout the day :) wud have been nice to watch tho x
- By gwen [gb] Date 08.03.12 13:46 UTC
I remember reading somewhere that breed judging woudl be included, but it seems to be all main ring.  I don't see the point of watching handlers walk the course for agility - surely a mobile camera could be employed too to go round the breed rings etc?
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 08.03.12 13:49 UTC
I think the live streaming is mainly just the arena programme, haven't had the chance to watch yet as was grooming all morning and now need to get rid of hubby from his lunch hour before I can watch dog stuff! :-)
- By vinya Date 08.03.12 13:49 UTC
They did it at westminster. I Was spoiled for choice on what breed juding to watch on there live streeming, as you could choose what to watch. It's a pitty they cant do the same for Crufts
- By NatalieH [gb] Date 08.03.12 14:13 UTC
hi gwen , the crufts facebook page said they would be posting links for the breed juding , i dont know if that was for youtube or facebook tho, i keep checking but havnt seen anything yet.
- By nesstaffy [gb] Date 08.03.12 16:46 UTC

Not very impressed with the streaming this year. Admittedly this computer is antediluvian, but the buffering is terrible and it also keeps repeating from the last cache, as well as jumping and sticking.
It's almost unwatchable.

Last year's streaming worked fine, as did the streaming from World Show and the one in Holland since then, on this same PC.

It wasn't a woman, it was a kid, it was the YKC agility finals, she took it very well bless her.
- By Cava14Una Date 08.03.12 17:39 UTC
There was another little accident in another agility comp too
- By ClaireyS Date 08.03.12 17:45 UTC
Oh yes, seeing the time nessstaffy posted it couldnt have been YKC ... sorry!

Of the Utility group I like the Akita, but i think the Standard Poodle might get it, he really showed well, although the affro's a bit much for me.

Yes, but Westminster is a very different thing, 1 class per breed, about 4000 dogs rather than 20,000.  They have a camera at each ring, and each breed follows into the ring quite quickly.  Here we have breeds going on for several hours.

How annoying - when I press on the videos to watch it says that the 'uploader has not made this video available in this country'  Where do they think I am?  I want to catch up on the agility - on the link I had for Crufts it said that there were no results yet.  That doesn't sound right either.  I watched a bit of the live streaming then caught the More4 coverage later on.  Guess what!  They showed the 2 runs that I had already seen.  I knew a few people competing today.
- By Nikita [gb] Date 09.03.12 12:17 UTC
Ceejay - I've had that problem too, checked all my settings and I am definitely down as UK!  Very annoying as I want to catch up on the same thing!
- By suejaw Date 09.03.12 12:19 UTC
I just can't get YouTube to play any footage at this time of Crufts..
- By tooolz Date 09.03.12 12:33 UTC Edited 09.03.12 12:38 UTC
Ive just watch the YouTube version of the Toy group ..the best, most comprehensive coverage of the actual dogs Ive EVER seen on screen.
Well done to all concerned with making it.

No breathing issues with this pug. Big Mac is a fab little guy.
- By MsTemeraire Date 09.03.12 14:00 UTC
Streaming seems to be more settled today. My 78 year old mother is currently glued to the flyball, she'd never heard of it before!
- By Celli [gb] Date 09.03.12 19:11 UTC
I'm really not seeing the point of this evenings round up on 4....the ad breaks are longer than the program !
- By Celli [gb] Date 09.03.12 19:42 UTC
At least there's no Beaker from the Muppets this year.
- By MsTemeraire Date 09.03.12 19:49 UTC

> At least there's no Beaker...

God be thanked!

I picked three of the four Gundog group winners, liked the ESS myself, but also chose the Irish Water and Lab.
- By lilyowen Date 09.03.12 19:55 UTC
I liked the American Cocker. Thought the lab could do with losing a couple of pounds.
- By Boody Date 09.03.12 19:55 UTC
i picked the springer and pointer.
Do all golden retrievers look so short legged?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.03.12 19:56 UTC

> Thought the lab could do with losing a couple of pounds.

Yes I thought she would have looked even better with a few pounds off.

> Do all golden retrievers look so short legged?

Not the ones I saw in the Gundog Demo, though in the showring yes, along with heavy heads.  Must admit in Goldens I do prefer the working type (also the Amercian type).

In labs I think some of the working type have diverged as much from the standard of the dogs like countess Howe had, as some of the show ones have, with so many looking like Lab cross whippets.  All speed and no substance.
- By Boody Date 09.03.12 20:03 UTC
the one i saw tonight i didnt even realise it was a golden, i always think of them as taller, sort of like a elegant lab lol
- By Nikita [gb] Date 09.03.12 21:23 UTC
The lab was definitely overweight.  I don't see why they need to be - looking at Saffi's breeders' site, all the dogs on there look just like her weight-wise - she's 5kg overweight (although it's going down!) :-(

> Not the ones I saw in the Gundog Demo,

Ahhhh that Gundog demo was poetry in motion!
Wonderful dogs, and the demo hostess firmly promoting positive training throughout. And who couldn't love that busy little working cocker she had! (Seeing that, not a breed for me, but adorable).

The Cocker was hilarious !, not the breed for me either but was a joy to watch the enthusiasm in this little pocket rocket.

Loved the fact that whenever she blew the STOP whistle, it didn't stop until it could see the handler -meaning it was perpetually jumping to & fro over the fence just to be within eyesight of its person!

just wish more explanation of judging would be included, what the judges look for and why.
More breed judging and a little less of the trade stands aswell, who wants to see a giant pooper scooper? imagine taking that out on a walk you would need a trolley.
More 4 keeps breaking up aswell, i think although the coverage is 2 hours long it is quite poor, my hubby fell asleep.

The gundog winner is stunning, and i am not a big coated dog fan, a worthy winner he shone above the rest.
- By japmum [gb] Date 10.03.12 19:54 UTC
getting fed up with so much flyball coverage now! After watching it a few times it's like groundhog day
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 11.03.12 15:19 UTC
Just wish we could see some obedience - is it on Youtube at all? I know it's not in the arena so we wouldn't get it in the live coverage.
- By Cava14Una Date 11.03.12 15:53 UTC

Thanks! Any of the championships? I got all hopeful when I found a piece called Championship - Bitches, but it was just the presentation and interview. :-(

Can't see any from the other days yet.
- By Cava14Una Date 11.03.12 22:07 UTC
Have heard 7-10 days until it is all on but keep checking you never know:-)
- By MsTemeraire Date 11.03.12 23:53 UTC
Well despite some teething problems I have to say overall I LOVED the streaming as usual, and the best thing was my elderly mother sitting down in front on the 'puter to watch quite a lot of it too - who'd have thought she would have enjoyed flyball and agility?

She was watching the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Agility demo today and we both loved the surprise guest - I had NO idea Paul O'Grady now has a rescue Staffy and has now become a real enthusiast for the breed. To see him turn up at Crufts as a "surprise guest" and have a go at Agility with his Staffy, Frank, was a real pleasure, and very entertaining too!

So this household has had a great 4 days and I have to say I am so pleased my mum watched it with me, even the TV shows in the evening. [And all the while she was watching More4, she was tickling the tummy of my BSD cross lad lying on his back on the sofa next to her!].
