Oh dear I wonder if the cocker rescues are wondering what effect it will have to them in a couple of months time

Oh dear...do you think that will happen?or is it that theyre just nice doggies? i hope the latter

One has to consider the Mail factor but it will no doubt make a difference but perhaps not as much as whatever breed the Crufts BIS is.

I thought it was direct quotes from the KC that were voicing the concerns ?

Think it was but you don't know how much is pruned or how much was actually with about the royal pup. Perhaps I am just a sceptic but I know first hand how a statement can be 'worked'

No I agree about the 'mail' syndrome but we have all seen the impacts of films and celebs on dog buying trends

There also have been suggestions that CKCS are crossed with working cockers , as part of a breed plan to establish a new line of CKCS free from SM and heart murmers. Neighbour of friend of mine has one of these crosses ...always at the vets, suffers from no end of ailments .

A cross between a small companion breed, a "lap dog" if you like and an energetic gundog breed ? How on earth could that be right :(

Ugh, I wouldn't want one. Working cockers are nice dogs, (as are show ones), but I've seen a few 'Cockerliers' and they've never really appealed.

It's already started ! I've just found a Working Cocker puppy for sale on Pets4Homes, advert starts;
Kate Middleton has one so here's another cute one. !!!   People who advertise in this way should never be aloud to breed their dogs and the kennel club should refuse to register any furthur puppies for this person. (thats if this litter was ever registered, maybe not. ) I'm so cross, I have owned, worked and breed the working type cocker for 30years and this sort of thing is just bad news! Advert states "Pulborough West Sussex".
