Hi there,

Struggling on what to get my mum for mother's day, card and gift wrap is sorted just need a gift now..

my mum doesn't want: wine or drink, food, chocolate or sweet really, gift vouchers as she never finds anything to spend them on

I bought her  perfume and make up gift set for xmas so she doesn't need anymore :)

Looked at a kindle but she uses my sister's as she does really use hers, looking for something alittle quirky or unique i think :)

The two loves in her life atm are our 2 ddbs so anything relating to these would be nice, also looking at a pandora/chamilia bracelet or a personalised bunch of flowers from
interflora.

My mum would be happy with with whatever i usually get her, but just want to find something she really will enjoy receiving

Thanks in advantage

best thing i ever get or want on mothers day is lunch with my lovely daughter!
- By kirstz10 [gb] Date 04.03.12 19:42 UTC
My sister going to do this for her for the whole family as it would of been my first choice :)

Is your mum creative? I always like to give and receive craft kits or something to inspire creativity. I know my daughter-in-laws love when I gift them something they can make. Sometimes they will actually enjoy making what ever is in the kit and then gift it to a friend.

alittle, she currently knitting baby items for her brother's other half but struggles to find the time to do this

Oh Lord, nearly forgot that again. Love my mum to bits but can't think of anything to get her - aargh!!! A miracle cure for her ridiculously rare cancer, which is incurable but at least stable at present?

I will just be happy to see my children on Mother's Day - I don't expect (or want) any presents :) :)
- By kirstz10 [gb] Date 04.03.12 22:17 UTC
i don't think she wants/expects anything as when i ask its nothing or dont need to get me anything :) leaves me with no clues though..
& lucydogs reading your post nearly had me in tears, seems i should be grateful both my mum and nan both currently have okayish health, hope you mum stays stable (yn)

There is a website called Etsy that has a lot of different people on it who make their own craft items. There are sellers producing all kinds of things from jewellery to soft furnishings to bespoke evening gowns :) worth a look as most of it is very unusual.

Or you could look on Groupon and find a very well priced activity/haircut/hotel break etc

I've got a show on Mothering Sunday - bad daughter!!! Might have to charge over on the Saturday, getting back in time for the theatre tickets that I got for Christmas! In my defence, I had planned to miss some stuff for her birthday, only to find she's going away on a cruise! :-)

Is there anywhere that would deliver flowers on the Sunday itself, does anyone know?

There are also various websites which do hampers delivered with face/body creams and girly goody stuff.  I've ordered things for my mother-in-law from this site below a few times, she's had a pamper hamper and also the salmon breakfast hamper which she went crazy over, everything is delivered really fresh and fast too, highly recommend them. :-)

http://www.interflora.co.uk/ are my lords and saviours :P you have to give them a bit of an advance but they will get the flowers where you need them on Mothers Day :)

Or just google and find a local florist and talk to them direct :)

Speaking as a mother and grandmother who wants for nothing but gets regularly nagged on Mother's Day, Christmas and birthdays to tell family what I really want ('Nothing' is unacceptable apparently and just me being lazy) I suggest you wing it this year but in the following year, when you see something she'd really like, buy it and put it away no matter if it's Mother-related or not.

My husband volunteers in a local charity shop and occasionally brings home a cheap little treasure (dress jewelery, second-hand books, etc.) that delights me.  These 'un-birthday' presents are wonderful but seemingly not good enough for the big occasions and are given immediately so we repeat the nagging etc. every year, even though I beg for mercy.

But you can be kinder.

BTW I'm sure your mum will love whatever you get her.  Mums do.

What, actually use a telephone and talk to a person?? Weird! :-p I'll try Interflora first, thanks! :-)

Can be cheaper to just call the florist - you don't pay the Interflora charge :)

Free delivery on the ones I picked. :-D I would have quite liked the ones with narcissi in as daffodils is what we always gave her at church on Mothering Sunday, but for some reason you couldn't get those delivered on the Sunday, so I picked a different bunch that you could get delivered on the right day. :-)

I think its great to just see your kids on mothers day
These days they lead such busy lives if  I get t to see them anytime it  makes my day

:) Exactly :) Both my children live over 100 miles away, so a visit is a 'present' in itself :) :) The cost of fuel is so high that it makes visiting more costly too :( I'm off to my son and DIL for Mother's Day and my daughter will travel to visit us there - what could be better than all the children together :) :)

Well I did enter this show before realising what day it was, but if Ellie comes in season I will let my friend down (it's only 20 minutes from her so she can drive that far) and go over to Mum's instead, assuming she's not already gallivanting off somewhere! :-)
