FK my fav judge by a mile!!!  :-) Lets hope that clown CB is not commentating this year...Wonder who will be doing it?!!
- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 04.03.12 20:34 UTC
No, I think he says in the Crufts special in DW that he won't be doing any commentating. Clare Balding is doing it again, I hope they have found some slightly more sensible vet but I doubt it.....

I hope we see more on the dogs like agility, flyball and displays instead of talking all over it, at least we have more than an hour

As I understand it he won't be watching any of it, to keep his mind totally impartial and unbiased.

Ohh that would be hard. He'll be dying to know whats going on bless him. That being said worth it for the honour of being asked to judge BIS

Very sensible. I think overall Frank Kane is a good judge, although as most he does have some ideas I don't agree with. He doesn't like my Ripley as he considers her to be too big for a bitch -she isn't, she is within the breed standard, yet he made this comment more than once before I stopped entering her under him. So it was quite amusing to watch the film of Ripley in the big ring at Crufts in the group and hearing Frank Kane having to commentate on her and say something positive when I KNEW he himself didn't like her LOL! I seem to remember he just mentioned her tail being held correctly!!

Don't forget the online streaming, I think this will be the 4th year in a row with my bum superglued to the seat in front of the computer for 4 days running.... lol

I've got a dilemma on Friday - go to rally obedience class, or stay home and watch Crufts! At least I've managed to keep part of Thursday afternoon free. Would be nice to see some obedience etc on the main programme and not just the shopping and idiot vets!

Will be very strange not listening to Frank on the tv, I think he's great at commentating on the BOB winners, very informative but it'll be great to see him in the big ring :)

Totally suprised me with his judging (in a good way!) I thought he'd love my older dog & I didn't think he'd even look at my youngest but it was the oposite way round! Older dog got a low placing and youngest won & a got a lovely critique! :)

I think FK is a fab judge.

Yes, I had a similar experience - 2nd of 2 in a Veteran Dog class with Henry, to a nice enough dog but not really of the same standard. Then later that year, Ellie won the AV Toy/Utility class at Discover Dogs, beating all sorts of beautifully presented breeds like poodles and yorkies, besides which even the best groomed Cavalier tends to look 'au naturel'!

Silly question, how do I actually find the live stream - is it on Youtube or something?

I think it's on http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialCrufts?ob=0&feature=results_main LucyDogs... which I have to say I'm very pleased about, being overseas :)

And look at the lovely Bacon providing the opening scenes, beautiful Stafford :)

Given the length of the coverage this year (2.5 hours a night) I would think that they will get a good bit of everything.

I thought that More 4's coverage last year was a great improvement on any that the BBC did. I also liked BIS being followed by a decent documentary on purchasing a puppy.
