I stayed at the Holiday Inn Northampton the other day for one night before a seminar and paid £29 for a 2 double bedded room.

The Ramada Encore is great for Crufts, literally a 2 minute walk to hall 4, much closer that from any of the car parks, not cheap (£120 for Wednesday) but you do save on car parking.  All the hotels on the NEC site put the prices up astronomically for Crufts week.

I just checked the Travelodge (Tamworth M42) this one is about 10-15 mins from the NEC, and they still have rooms available for £30.50. It would be an extra £20.00 a night for the dog.

We're staying here this year, usually go to Holiday Inn Airport but wanted to be able to walk in this year. Is the food good?
Will probably need room service as we're not sure about leaving the terrible twins alone in the room!!!

Hi flattiemum, do you mean the Encore?  If so the food is fine, nothing too fancy but reasonable choice, a bit Pub Grub type food.  As far as i can remember the room service menu is a bit limited, but I know it has pizzas on it, as the first time we stayed we turned up too late for the restaurant and only room service available.  You can also get take away delivered, I noticed lots of people did this when we stayed there for LKA.

Yes it is the Encore, good idea about the take-away. Used to be able to quite happily leave Marley and go out for a meal knowing he would have settled down for a sleep but the two youngsters we are taking this year are a different kettle of fish!!!

Travelodge Tamworth is great.... clean and friendly - plus a great chippy not to far away :)

That's where we are staying again this year !

although not looking forward to a young Bentley in our room!!!  Think we may take a crate  for him as don't think sharing a bed with him will be much fun - Connor is bad enough but at least hes not the sort to jump on your head while you are sleeping!

Boo would never do that, would he?? ;-)  You may just have to think about leaving him with moi :-P

I've stayed here before, beds comfy and when I last went they didn't charge for dogs. Only 30mins to the NEC.. Days Inn, Warwick services on the M40 NB
